I want to get a drone around $2000. I see there’s a lot of controversy around DJI in the USA. What drone can I buy that’s equivalent to the DJI mini pro? I’m just looking for decent 4k video.
I have no idea if AI will save the world or be the end of it or be something in between! I do know that I’ve always loved creating things since I was a kid. As I grew older, I fell in love with films and eventually started creating tutorials and short films (and everything in between). It’s my...
I created a zombie short, although it’s probably more like a trailer. I have a love hate relationship with this new technology. It can do some amazing things that would be too expensive to do in reality, but it’s also frustrating because no matter how specific you are, the results are unreliable...
My last exploration into AI generation with Veo 3 was a Sci-Fi Movie Trailer. It was fun to make, but it was far from real looking (as far as the characters go). This time I took a stab at trying to create more realistic looking characters from different time periods. AI has a ways to go, but...
I have a script that I wrote that I decided to turn into a movie trailer using Google Veo 3.
It was an interesting experience using AI. The technology is evolving. It’s far from perfect, but it’s fun to build something without shooting a frame. Certainly not a replacement for real actors and...
The last time I posted, I shot scenics with a F1 lens that's far from perfect opened up all the way, but has a lot of character. This time, I shot with a zoom lens that has a fantastic zoom range from 24-105mm, but only opens up to 2.8.
What do you think? Which do you prefer and why?
I shot some scenics with a F1 lens. I imagine most people shoot nature with more depth of field, but I wanted to try the opposite. What do you think?
Canon EOS C80 6K full-frame 12-bit RAW Cinematic Test Footage
I've been experimenting with the Canon C80. I've found a lens and filter combo that I like to use now and this video shows you the results. Probably not the look everyone will want or need, but I feel like it has a lot of character. Do you agree?
I’ve been learning a lot about the Canon C80 and made a video showing what I’ve discovered so far…
CANON C80 Review | Unboxing, Overview, Setup, Settings, Footage, LOG, LUTS & RAW
I was intrigued by the DJI Focus Pro when I first heard about it. On run and gun shoots, it would be nice to have auto focus using a Blackmagic Camera and a Cine Lens, but does this thing really do the job? As a goal to learn it and test it, I made this video if you want to check it out. It's...
So in AVID, I have a plug in called NUGEN STEREOIZER. I love it because I can take mono nat sounds (like crowds for example) and make them sound stereo -- it gives a nice left and right speaker sound. When I add it in premiere on the audio mixer, it doesn't do anything. Am I using it wrong or...
Hello, everyone. I created a little documentary about my wife, her mother and our son dealing with a rare genetic disorder. It’s called LOVE YOU LIKE A ROCK. I thought my wife did an amazing job in the film. She opened up about some difficult and personal topics. It’s about dealing with loss...
I’ve used generative AI in photoshop and it’s handy at times. For fun, I wrote a simple short kids story and used Adobe Firefly to create the images for the story. I just entered basic prompt details that summed up each sentence in the story. Firefly filled in the blanks. The results were...
Hi Everyone,
As I've shared with you in the past, I've been working on a documentary shot using Blackmagic Cameras and graded with DaVinci Resolve. Many of you have been super helpful getting me to this point! The film has been shot and edited, but I'm still messing with the final cut after...
I was looking for an affordable travel tripod for video and photography. I found this one and I think it’s pretty solid…

I recently upgraded from an iMac with a 5K display to a Mac Studio. I had to decide what monitor to get with it and I documented my findings. Which monitor did you guys end up using? It's a darn shame 5K iMacs could't be used as a Mac Studio monitor, but I think that I made the right choice...
I need to fly with the pocket 6K pro, a lens, a battery charger, a cfast 2.0 card and 7 camera batteries. If I throw them into a bag like this (see link below), will I have any issues carrying everything on? Anything special I need to do with the batteries? And will the footage on the card be ok...
