Drug Commercial Spoof

My last exploration into AI generation with Veo 3 was a Sci-Fi Movie Trailer. It was fun to make, but it was far from real looking (as far as the characters go). This time I took a stab at trying to create more realistic looking characters from different time periods. AI has a ways to go, but this was a fun experiment…

Lol the fire and dirt woman look pretty good, other than alien eyes! I like the disappearing knife trick just before coffee grab.

Can you make a scene play out in full rather than a compilation of different shots from different scenes?

It's a bit hit and miss. They use up your credits every time you hit process. When it comes out close to useable, I go with it to save credits. You can enter the same prompt again and get different results. Even if you change the prompt, it might not come out as good. I'm sure in time, it will be easier to change.

You can certainly do a continuous scene, but it's tricky and Veo 3 doesn't get it right all of the time. I think the key to this is when they get the elements part of the process correct. That's where you enter still images for it to reference. Like if you enter stills of characters and a location, then I assume a continuous scene would be easier to achieve. I'm sure in the future, it will be smart enough to easily do what you are asking for. Right now, it's the Wild West!

Excited and scary. I enjoy using it, but am afraid that it could take my job away in the future and/or make it not pay enough. Who knows what the future will bring!

Thanks for watching!

Hehe. That's a good advert :).
The eyes in the old lady look weird but that's the only obvious issue I had. I didn't notice the disappearing knife till rob norton mentioned it.

Edit: Actually, what's with the telephone in the 1963 clip?

Oh yeah I missed that! 99% of these projects have people speaking on camera. Pretty funny that people are pretending like the creative shackles have been unlocked with AI, then proceed to copy what they think needs to be the format. It's only one notch above people saying single words of a sentence before moving onto the next person in another location, progressing the sentence with the next word. This is probably my all time most hated style of video delivery. With a lot of those gimmicks, I give a hall pass to whoever did it the first time, but I'm not convinced the first version was good.

Another disliked style is a chronological progression of someone's life for important moments. Obviously used to fantastic effect at times, but for some TVC Directors, it's literally all they know in terms of pitching and treatments and completely played out. 'What's your style?' 'I'm good at people getting older campaigns!'

@thefilmaddict you can do better! Let's see it! Maybe we could collaborate for a Screwitol 2.0..
