How are all the new cameras doing with MOIRE? Can't seem to find much ratings on moire, but I can not stand it, and don't want to buy a new camera that has a lot of it.
I'm aware of normal digital moire of a pixel aligned sensor trying to capture a window screen, or close up on weaved shirt -...
I can not as my T3i no longer functions without batteries, and I don't own black magic or other. I've just seen comparos on you tube similar as the first one I posted.
these are all different peoples' videos
Thanks, Bassman. I feel like Black Magic is hitting good colors with their reds, but I havent deep dived the rest of their color.
JUST NOW ran across another instance, granted, it is a high end cinema camera, but pretty sure even my cheapo Canon was hitting the reds better.
k, this is more about my GH4, but curious if GH5 and S1H have the issue.
REDs lean over towards the ORANGE coloring
Noticed this immediately when I got my GH4, but worked around it okay. ALSO noticed it in a recent S1H vs P6K... the P6K had a RED caboose, while the S1H had a red-orange...
GH4 has this white balance color adjuster shifter thingy that almost no one ever mentions. I can see what it does, just don't know how to adjust it, and lack testing gear, tools, knowledge to do it right. I played with it abit, but still could not remove the orange push in the solid reds on my...
is it just me and my calibrated monitors, or does the S1H produce RED with a lean toward orange, just like my GH4 does?
Is that what Alexa does?
Just curious. I been watching videos and seems like other cameras are truer red than S1H.
On various monitors and laptops, not just my calibrated...
Can someone with the knowledge explain to me how smartphones can get a 4K image out of a sensor probably no bigger than my pinky nail??
I'm just unable to wrap my head around the logic of how THAT works, but it takes full frame to get 6k and 8k?
I know the quality is not there yet, but...
"less is more" "shoot flat for grading" "turn down saturation"
yeah, we've all grown up hearing that. GH4 is an 8 bit camera - IE it already lacks AMOUNTS of stuff....
I'm asking... have any of you GH4 shooters pushed UP the saturation? I'm thinking about giving it a shot. Any examples...
(as topic relates to my GH4 that has ROLLING SHUTTER)
Rolling shutter has bitten me a few times - things unfixable in post like grabbing a still image from an action shot - and I been jonesing for GLOBAL SHUTTER ever since the initial BM 4K camera was talking about it. After BM failed to...
I have a GH4 - love it, works great, not seeing a need to upgrade it....
weird thought: If I bought another GH4, I could do multi camera, and match almost perfectly with no effort.
Already got lenses set that matches, would save money over a GH5
Of course, GH5 IS better, but it doesn't match...
Shouldn't this insanely overpriced (at release) POS be about $39 now??

I'm asking here - you guys - because I notice you have a wide variety of experience and several also own some Black Magic cameras. So asking on the BM forum is not helpful in any way to me, so PLEASE don't move my question.
IN YOU GH GUYS EXPERIENCE, what are some of the pros and cons about...
(Ima throw some numbers around, but I don't have perfect proof of their accuracy, and the numbers are not the main point here anyway)
Everyone loves/wants many stops of Dynamic Range in a camera. Alexa does 15 stops, RED's hitting 16+, our cheaper ones claim 12 - probably only hitting 10...
(I searched first)
Does the GH5 or 5S offer better DYNAMIC RANGE over the GH4?
I'm aware of all the other benefits, 60p, 10-bit, better color, sharper sensor... just wondering about the Video Dynamic Range.
(tried search, found nothing)
Any free solutions that work well for MP4 file repairs? I'm aware there are paid softwares for this, but asking about legit free solutions.
After 6 years in video I FINALLY got one corrupted clip. It was important to me as the filmmaker to recover it, but I could...
