GH4 MP4 file repair free?

(tried search, found nothing)

Any free solutions that work well for MP4 file repairs? I'm aware there are paid softwares for this, but asking about legit free solutions.

After 6 years in video I FINALLY got one corrupted clip. It was important to me as the filmmaker to recover it, but I could have edited around it if it came to that. Another desparate option was to 4k RE-FILM IT from my computer monitor as it played back fine in VLC, but no where else, nor in VEGAS 15.

In the end, I was able to make multi passes in VLC convert and ended up with usable video, and separate audio that I easily GROUPED in Vegas just fine.

So, I got it covered. But, what do you guys use to fix files?

Check here perhaps it may help:

If you use ffmpeg can you successfully extract the raw h.264 video stream? Like so:

ffmpeg -i broken.mp4 -map 0:0 -vcodec copy -an -f h264 broken.h264

Or in case you have no copyright concerns could you dropbox the file?

It is my own footage and, I was able to recover it using VLC, but let me know if you want me to upload it so you can play around. I do wonder what happened to it. Days worth of other footage has worked great. Maybe it was ONE computer crash that nuked it, at some time.

Oh, I see, I am glad you already fixed it.
