I want to buy a shoulder mount/ support system that will work for both a dvx/hvx, and a dslr.
I've looked all over the net, and I can't seem to make up my mind. I like the Redrock shoulder mount, but I've heard it's very uncomfortable. How bad is it? Also, how much would I have to spend in...

I'm trying to decide wether to trade my DVX for a T2i. I like to use high shutter speeds for fast paced "28 days later" shots.
Is this not possible with a T2i?
What about shooting at say 1/1000 in 60p for slow mo?
I REALLY love shooting at high shutter speeds with my DVX, and making the...
Finally finished this sucker up. Let me know what you think!

*NOTE
It's better to watch it in HD on Vimeo, but it's up to you.
I'm having a problem with exporting a video. I exported using Compressor.
Anyway, I have standard text before and after the video. It plays fine in FCP, but after exporting, the text fluctuates while playing. It squeezes itself for a few seconds and then goes back to normal. How can I fix this?
All my footage was shot in squeeze mode on a DVX, and I'm editing it on a widescreen 24p timeline.
I captured a clip and it looked fine. I took it through JES deinterlacer to make it slow mo. The finished deinterlaced clip plays just fine in Quicktime, and is still widescreen.
However, when I...
I shot a clip in 60i Squeeze for slow mo. Captured into FCP, the clip is fine, but after taking it through JES, it re squeezes the footage, so it's no longer widescreen. Anyone know how to fix this?
1. Can you mix HD from a t2i with SD footage from a DVX? Or is this impossible?
2. Can the T2i record 720 at 24fps, or only 1080?
3. Can it shoot SD at 24fps?
I visited my wonderful hometown of Mexico City, and am in the process of editing footage that I shot there.
Here is a small teaser/test that I put together. Let me know what you think!

I have a few shots of red cars and buildings where the edges, especially diagonal lines, get vertical pixelation. It basically ruins my shots. Is there any way to fix this problem in Final Cut Pro? I read that a "Chroma Blur" in AE can fix it, but the only software I have is FCP.
Can anyone...
So as I mentioned in an other thread, I'll be going to my hometown of Mexico City in the upcoming weeks.
Can anyone give me any tips on how to keep my camera safe in a big city? I have never traveled with something as expensive and bulky as my DVX, and I want to make sure I don't get it stolen...
So in a few weeks I'll be visiting my hometown of Mexico City (I haven't been back in 4 years). I'll be taking along my DVX for some (hopefully) interesting shots.
Anyway, I want to take it upon myself to show Mexico City in as accurate a portrayal as possible, showing both some poverty as well...
This is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Hollywood's brains have completely run dry.

So after seeing Avatar, I'm wondering how the bluray/dvd releases will look. How are they going to present the 3D at home? With the crappy red/green glasses? Is there any way that people will be able to see the movie in 3D just as good as in the theater?
As for 3D at home in general, are there...
My DVX100a is making the reds and oranges look TOO red. It is also producing extremely red/orange skin tones. The only thing I found that corrected this was to set the chroma level to -7. Am I doing something wrong? Here are my settings that are giving me red skin tones. Please help.
DVX100a...
Ok, so I've asked this question before, but I'm still having a lot of trouble with this.
How to you white balance during magic hour in order to preserve to orange glow? I've tried manual WB, and the image ends up blue. If I then adjust the color temp, it never looks right.
I tried both...
I just got the battery and would like to try it out. Do I need to "cycle" my battery like I did with my macbook? Do I need to fully charge it and then drain it completely before I star using it?
