I set up my account as director's account. Is that all I have to do to upload videos that are longer than 10 minutes?

and you have to travel back to 2006. That is when they grandfathered the "Directors" into the longer video status.

I heard that you'd also need to be a partner with youtube but I still couldn't figure out how... maybe your videos got the views racked up to a certain numbers?

I think that you need X amount of subscribers to be a partner and upload longer videos....But this is just speculation...

Vimeo seems to stutter quite a bit, and youtube doesn't for the same footage.

Don't know why.

And does Vimeo charge for every time your video is embedded?

Vimeo is reaaaalllly slow for me, sometimes videos won't even load.... youtube works perfectly.

But there is also people having lots of issues with youtube....

so you never know.....
