I'm sure I'm missing something obvious and easy, but I can't figure out a non-clumsy way to make the footage the plural eyes synced on the timeline into stand alone clips that appear in the browser. Could someone walk me through the steps?
I do mostly hand held, documentary type work, so I love the idea of the variable ND, but my experience with my Light Craft Workshop variable ND was a mixed bag. In many situations it wasn't usable. Crazy flaring or glare, off colors--particularly inside (yes, I'd like to be able to use it...
Been hunting around and haven't found a clear explanation. Is there an inherent loss of resolution? If there is already a full explanation of this out there, would someone point me to it? Thank you.
Crud. I shot 24 GB worth of footage on my GH13 using a SanDisk 32GB Class 10 card. The card was formatted and tested. I'd used it twice before.
Everything looked fine when I opened the card, but then part way into offloading it onto an external hard drive I got an error message. When I opened...
So, I get this process in principle, but I must be screwing something up. I shoot in 720 60p. Ingest it using log and transfer. Drop the footage in a 24 fps timeline then slow the footage down to 40%.
Sounds simple-ish. However, when I do this the 60p footage doesn't look any different than 24p...
Anyone have a good solution for donuting a matte box to multiple lens diameters. DIY or otherwise? I do mostly doc run and gun stuff so the less work I have to do when swapping lenses the better. I know Zacuto has a universal donut for $95. Seems like a lot for cloth and velcro.
I've got a Fader ND from Light Craft Workshop--love it outside, but inside I've got some major glare issues, especially with the 20mm panny pancake lens. Is there a fix for this (besides not allowing windows to enter frame)?
To get from the 20mm to my 72mm Fader ND I need to use two step up...
Just got the Oly zoom and loved it for the first 15 minutes--until I mounted a shotgun onto the top of the body. Manual focusing (and AF of course) creates a noise which is easily picked up on the mic.
I do a lot of run and gun doc work so I need a fast zoom and I need to be able to mount it...
I just talked to tech at Totevision and they said that the reason why the 703HD monitor is blowing out at relatively low light levels is because the signal going into the component BNC inputs needs to be digital. The HVX outputs an analog component signal, so I've got a problem. Even after...
My totevision is barely cutting it right now. The color is pretty far off and when I open up the iris to levels that read in the camera's LCD and my Panavision 17" HD monitor, the totevision is very blown out. I've messed with the settings but I haven't gotten it to the point where I can trust...
The word a while ago was that dvtec was coming out with a new rig designed to support an HVX with an adaptor, lens and matte box out front. I haven't hear word of it since, and I see nothing on their website. Anyone have information?
I havent seen any rates for news stringers I'm thinking i will get my new a1 and change my rates per story what do you all think would be a good rate for news footage per station per story.
I attach a Foxi remote focus/iris control onto the handle of my shoulder mount so I don't have to reach up to the actual focus ring. It works well, but I really wish the Foxi had a button to activate the Focus Assist. I think having that cabability would really streamline the motions of focusing...
I know HH with an adaptor for any length of time is difficult--impossible? Any specific recommendations for set-up (including monitor to flip the image)? I've read many threads that provide some information but "you can totally run and gun with the Brevis" isn't specific enough for me.
When I focus to infinity, I find the image is sharp at M95, and becomes out of focus if I go to M99. The object isn't too close, I'm focusing to a high grade monitor--the lens just seems to go out of focus above M95.
Could someone please tell me what's going on? Much obliged.
I was wondering if anyone had much experience shooting in black and white with the HVX. B&W might be appropriate to the story of my next project. I'm considering shooting with B&W filters and viewing the footage in the field on a monitor that I can set to B&W--then removing the color in post.
I...
