Gh2 Slow Motion settings

Haven't heard much about these (I'm talking about the 80% stuff, not shooting 60P and then conforming to 24P). Has anyone been using them?

Got my GH2 less than a week ago and only messed with the speed settings a few times. The 80% in my opinion doesn't do a whole lot for me. It just doesn't have that look that conforming from 60p to 24p has. I was thinking about using the 300% for short timelapse but that is probably all.

Huh. Is the problem with eighty percent just that it isn't overcranked enough or that it looks artificial?

It's just that it's not really that noticeable. 80% slow-motion at 24fps is just the same at 30fps conformed. It looks good in some situations, but compared to 60fps slow-motion (which is 40% speed) it's not really that "slow" looking.

Could someone clue me in to the best method for shooting biking for slomo on the panny g series? Specifically in Vegas? For example is there anyway to use something like cinema tools to change meta...on the windows side? What makes the BEST slomo?

I've tried the 80% mode, you can watch some parts here :

To my opinion I'm disappointed with that mode. It seems there is some mud problems, and the sound is off.
For the best slowmo you can shoot at 720P 60fps, then with After Effects or Premiere change the rate setting to 30fps or less. With Vegas, I don't know the way to do it, I'm on Mac.

For silky smooth slo-mo shoot 720p60 with a 1/125 shutter then conform to 23.976 (23.98) - looks great. I use Cinema Tools to conform.

I have been using FC and it will do an auto conform, but I still have to go in and (in a 24P sequence) set the speed at 40%. This works, but is there a way to conform a 60P clip where it will be at 24p (or whatever the sequence is) that works better?

I've been using FC7 and the 40% speed doesn't work properly. You need to open the clip with Cinema Tools and conform it to 23.976 (if you're using a 24 fps timeline) then import the clip to your FC project. Plop it in your timeline and you're good. It's super slow and beautifully smooth. You can then speed that clip up in FC if you didn't want to go that slo mo. This is the way it was done with the GH1, and I was just hoping the GH2 offered something similar but allowed you to cut out the Cinema Tools (or whatever else you're using) step.
