A theoretical backorder based on internal estimates? Or are preorders open somewhere?
 
The updates will vary around the world so they are pretty irrelevant. Someone in NYC buying from B&H might be #200 on the list and will receive their camera in October while someone in Europe might receive their camera this week.

They have most likely started to ship at least somewhere and one's personal circumstances (and maybe a little bit of luck) will determine when he or she gets the camera.

I'm sure you'll hear from several users on this forum when they start coming in.
 
Assuming that the Cinema line is made in Japan and Canon ships by sea - unlike ARRI, which cameras are delivered by a Maybach in a gold & diamonds encrusted case - it seems reasonable that the Aussies will get their shipments first simply due to the physical proximity to Tokyo.

Whaaaaat. camera ships by sea? Even lobsters are ship by planes these days, Very stupid if is true. I takes 11 days a container from Tokyo to LA. So Easily two weeks or more.

I also just got word of my camera shipping. It's the regular C200 - not the B and not the lens kit ('though I was tempted by the 18-80 kit!). I should have it early next week. I ordered mine from Professional Video in Portland ("New York prices, Portland People" is their slogan, which is great!). I purchased a C100 Mark II from these guys a few years ago and was very pleased with every aspect of the sale. I've got no relationship with them, other than being a happy customer.
