C200: Shipping Date

And by adding an item I mean before everything has of course shipped. Sometimes you'll forget to add something to your cart, and you might call or chat with someone a few minutes after you've checked-out, and the person will add what you want to the order and it will all ship together (and your CC will be updated/adjusted accordingly).

I can't imagine that THAT many c200 buyers are first time Canon people and would even want the kit. At this price point, I think NOT stating a ship date for the non-kit c200 is a sales tactic to make a few extra bucks. I just want to know if it will be shipping by 9/1 when I'd like to be using it.

Changing Canon Financial Services Lease Approval Amount

Changing Canon Financial Services Lease Approval Amount

Should be very easy to have your B&H sales rep contact Canon Financial Services to amend the lease approval letter for the slight increase in price for the C200 24-105mm Kit.

The typical lease approval from Canon comes with an approval that allows for the equipment cost to increase by 10%.

If you have a Canon lease with another dealer like B&H, but want to move it to Texas Media Systems, send us an email. Its a very easy to do.

I took out a business lease through Canon Financial and B/H for only the body. Do you guys think they'll let me upgrade to the body with the lens without that much of a hassle?

Canon C200 Camera Body with EVF, LCD & Grip 2215C002 $7499

Canon C200B Body (No EVF, LCD, Grip, or Handle) $5999

C200 24-105mm II Lens Kit 2244C002 $8399

Canon C200B Accessories $199 - $699

Hi Terry, Do you have any update about shipping dates and Kits availability?

August 2017 is still the ETA for the C200, C200 Kit and C200B per my contacts at Canon as of this morning.

I have no doubts that Canon will ship this month, but it could be the last day of the month that we actually received any cameras.

That's great news. I sold my old RED to preorder the C200 and it's making me nervous not having a proper A cam. I know originally they said end of July/early August, so hopefully we'll have our cameras within a couple of weeks...

I wouldn't ever. I did notice that BH's site no longer has an expected availability date for the c200 Kit.

Even if they are a month or two late, it's still good. I doubt that will happen, but just saying.

People have waited years - plural - for the delivery of their cameras (RED and Blackmagic).

I was given a "I hope in the next two weeks" quote this morning. That's in Europe though, but I guess when shipping from Asia and with a worldwide dealer Network like canon, availability will be the same.
But who knows:)

My Dealer spoke with Canon yesterday and they also said it will take another 2 weeks to deliver. I´m in Germany...

I have no specific knowledge of Canon's shipping on this camera, but coming from a manufacturing background -- what the hell did you expect? That the factory was stacking them up like cordwood one after another, building a massive stockpile? Then on that magical day they would cut a ribbon, or maybe use dynamite to burst a dam ala Force 10 From Navarone, and then all those cameras would be unleashed to the world in a great torrential downpour?

They said they would start shipping at end of July. START shipping.

A factory gears up for production. They set up an assembly line and there are many sub-assemblies that need to be built and tested and then assembled and tested again. Before any of that there are parts that need to be ordered and built. Many come from subcontractors and there are complex schedules for all of this to come together. And no one - and I mean NO ONE -- sits on inventory once it is done. They have an expected weekly output based on capacities that were determined relative to forecasts many months ago. Unless something comes up, the factory will pretty much stick to outputting that amount each week, and then it will ship those cameras on a scheduled basis. That may or may not be on a weekly basis depending on the size of the orders and where they are going. Often if an order for a given territory is small the factory will set a schedule that allows for enough units to accrue so that they can save on a more mass shipment.

Canon and any other manufacturer will be sending out cameras on a steady basis. Just because you ordered one doesn't mean that you will get it the first day they ship. It depends on how much of a backorder there is. When I was at Convergent Design the original Odyssey7Q had a nearly six month backorder when it first shipped. We just couldn't build them any faster. ARRI had something like eight months backorder for the Alexa when it was introduced, and I believe Tesla has something like two years for its new car. I doubt that Canon has anything like that scale of backorder for this camera, but for anyone tapping their foot on August 1st you really need to mitigate your expectations. This is not how things work on a starship.

Well Mr Panasonic :). If you can ask your bosses grab the momentum and give us a price for the EVA1 and add an onboard EVF I bet you you will received as many if not more pre-orders for you mysterious camera.

Honestly I have been very happy with everything I had used from Panasonic anything from GH2 to Varicam LT (Which I used once but can't afford to buy). I honestly think that not having an EVF on camera was a terrible decision. I don't really mind waiting a bit and not knowing the price of the EVA1 (because I'm sure will be competitive) but for me the C200 seem a better proposition for the time been.

Thanks for your comments and noted. Much information about the EVA1 will be announced shortly, and yes, we do already have a considerable backorder accumulated for our camera as well.

Please understand that my post was not a dig at Canon or its camera at all. I was simply trying to explain to people what happens in manufacturing and delivery of such products. We face the same challenges they do.
