DRI - a film by Michael Anthony Horrigan

Thanks, guys. For low light the HV20 holds up fairly well. It's no GH1 but it's all I have. :) I would love to play with the GH1.:2vrolijk_08:

I need to find someone who is really good with curves and grading. I think a lot more 'umph!' could be drawn out of these images in the right hands. Any takers?

MAH

I'd like to give it a shot.

The grabs are looking great
Thanks! I'll let you know if I go through with this one.

Grabs look good Mike. Good luck with this one.
Thanks! Sorry to see that you're out this time around.

Yeah, for natural light and that little lamp, that looks really good. That HV20 is still doin' its thing.
Yup. The fish tank actually cast quite a bit of light as well. The exposure was tricky to figure out, still not sure if I nailed it. I really need an external monitor.

Grabs look good MAH, and for the HV20 it self. I never got around to ordering any lenses/adapters for mine. But all looks good, best of luck! And what's this with a GH1? got one? My Lisa film was shot on the Rebel t1i

Thanks. No adapters for mine either.

The GH1 thing was just Rodney teasing me.
Not really... :)

I would love to try one though. The footage from it looks amazing.
My little HV20 will have to do for now...

had a crack at one for fun :)

used curve adjustment only in all channels. Brought more green into the darks, raised reds in mids, brough blue's up in lows and yellows up in highs. And a small S curve in the RGB

Nice man! Looks good. The HV20 can really turn you upside down and do some good work for you. Although I think I have an older version, saw someone with one yesterday and had more cooler controls than what mine has.
I have an original model myself. :)
Maybe you saw the HV30?

Michael is the master of the HV20. He spanks that camera something HARD.
Thanks, man. :)

That exactly what I want! I'm going to try this. If I have a problem I may PM you for a walkthrough. Thanks!

Some new CC comparisons. First pick is the old, second is the new.
Following some of PaPa's hints.
Seems to work well with the brightly lit footage, not so great with the dark stuff. Gets real noisy. Any ideas? I like the new change in the pic below though. Vastly improved.

I think I like PaPa's results better though.

That's the thing I;ve found with Color Correction. If you have excellent source of light in your shot you have so much more latitude in terms of what you can pull off. Colorista loves light and turns the darkly lit scene into a close approximation of mud. Takes a deft touch and patience to get the results you need... consistently.
