Sung to the tune of "There's No Business Like Show Business" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIiQMsDQ0Uo

There's no business like no business
Like no business I know
Everything about my work is failing
There isn't any traffic on my vlog
I'm getting that sinking feeling
That I'm about to go down .... etc.

I think that China is most definitely not fully out of the woods.
While it seems somewhat contained (although the numbers from localities may have some reliability problems) the increased workforce activity and general loosening creates a risk of the beginning of the second wave.

The NBA is suspending its season until further notice. NCAA will have no fans during games (if they still go on). My usual corporate work is crickets right now.

Yep. Wondering if some of my stuff is gonna go away, now... NCAA First round, Final Four and Women's Elite Eight. One of my friends was supposed to be embedded with a team all next week and it got bagged earlier today, before these decisions were made.

Curious what will happen here with High School Basketball State Championship games this weekend. They sometimes have several thousand people attend those games.

It would have been the PR blunder of the century to have continued on with NAB under the present conditions.
Now the question is, will CineGear, INTERBee and IBC be on the chopping block? Or will this run it's course and then blow
over as it somewhat appears to be doing in China?

I don't think this will blow over any time soon. It’s affecting the entertainment industry hard right now. Not just expos and film festivals, either. Productions are shutting down. And the NBA suspending its season also affects all the broadcast crews.

I have a couple of projects that are going away, but I've been fortunate not to lose all of my bookings so far.

Here's a rather sobering list of stuff that's getting shut down:

Maybe off topic but this current research statement is interesting as it relates to possible tampering with the Covid-19 virus:

"...supposed to be cleaved during virus egress (Mille and Whittaker, 2014) for S-protein “priming” and may provide a gain-of-function to the 2019-nCoV for efficient spreading in the human population"

" A GAIN OF FUNCTION TO THE 2019-nCoV FOR EFFICIENT SPREADING IN THE HUMAN POPULATION." Being the standout comment.

This research is bring carried out by some of the leading lights in the world of immunological studies who are some of the worlds leading researchers. All sources are referenced at the bottom of the following article.

Stay well! Wash them hands.

Jesus, man. The market is taking another dump today. I thought this would be bad, but it's even worse than I imagined. And considering the Pandemic hasn't even peaked yet, who knows where we are headed.

The virus is running marathons her in Colorado. We went from 17 to 33 cases in less than 72hrs. A big A/V event at my hotel for sunday just postponed and I heard through the grapevine the largest hotel in Denver, The Gaylord Rockies lost 4 million just last week due to reservation and event cancellations.

As of right now, Im more worried about what this fear will do to the economy than my own health.

It's serious. We get that. We're washing our hands and avoiding crowds. Check.

What more do you want? Should we panic?
Some people in this country are of the opinion that just "wash hands" or "the flu is worse", "the risk is low" is not enough or even counterproductive, it seems others get irritated by this and think it is sufficient.

Panic is no good, but being realistic, and that means looking at what is/was happening in China, Korea, Japan, and Italy, is the best way.

Several new cases in South Florida (Broward County), both seem to have originated at Port Everglades. There are over twenty cruise lines operating from there. Princess just canceled a Caribbean trip, Metro returned to dock too.

PS. At first, I thought NBA overreacted but then I recalled playing b-ball in a gym ... and remembered that it's not all fast breaks and long outside jumpers but a bunch of bumping - and the related breathing and other bodily fluid exchange - and elbowing and so on and figured that Silver really had no choice.

British Government just announced the next steps for the UK, interestingly they aren't cancelling everything. One of the boffins gave worst-case scenario numbers which would be nearly 600,000 deaths out of a population of 66 million. But given he said we have no data for people who have contracted the virus but have had no symptons, as there is no test for that, the numbers could be far fewer. He reckons we are still four weeks behind Italy in terms of the scale of the outbreak and 10-14 weeks away from the peak. Let's hope that is an overestimate too.

That cruise ship off Northern California was allowed to dock on Monday. 19 out of 21 positives were the crew (~1,100 employees), out of 2,400 passengers, there were two. All quarantined at the moment and/or receiving treatments.
