7d clips

I downloaded those clips...and every other clip possible.

I know the specs look outstanding, but the image look pixel-y to me or digitized. I obviously don't know the terminology, but am I the only one who is seeing this?? Especially wider type shots. Maybe its the compression?

Trust me, I want to believe this camera is going to be amazing, but so far I haven't seen anything that wows me except for the specs. I watched the Passage and was underwhelmed.

I know I'll probably catch hell, but trust me, I am all for this camera being amazing. I was just wondering if anybody else is a little mystified?

second that !

The 5d still looks like the winner to me, we'll have to wait and see when the 7d gets out .

its because vids were made by photographers,we have to wait a little bit for something worthy to look at from this cam.
Vimeo is full of ugly tests from many cams, not mentioning red one.You have to know what youre doing.

it is my debated opinion that F2.8 Crop chip is worth about F11 on a FF chip

ie FF is MUCH smoother shooting 4 or 5.6 on a FF

While crop 35 may be best for shooting cinema where the set is a set the ability of the 5d to blur reality is still a strong selling point

That canon video in venice or wherever really does not look appealing to me, but it is indeed IMO badly shot and crying out for some ND action and reflectors at least

shooting natural light is an art

Hmmm....I watched "The Passage" again here at home and I think I understand what folks are saying about being underwhelmed. It didn't look as clean to me as when I saw it earlier today (at work on a different monitor). I watched it just now at the link posted above:

But to be honest....I watched it from a different link earlier that looked more "uncompressed" (or less). Matter of fact this link seems like it is low resolution. You can even hear it when listening to the music....which sounded like garbage. I think the reason for the varying comments of this video is because there are two different sites hosting this video. The one above is low resolution while the one I watched it from earlier (CAN SOMEONE FIND THAT LINK) looked flawless (in terms of no noise anywhere and sharp as a tack).

Edit: The link I saw it from earlier also had 5Dll footage to view (if that helps).

Still photographers are shooting footage now, wait a week or two before you judge the image too much and t gets nto video guys hands. As of now the passage video is the best I have seen. We are going to see some awesome videos from this cam in the next 6 months, probably a lot of bad ones too from soccer moms. (I love soccer moms FTR)

They could have compressed it more to save bandwith, remember when the 5d2 revere video came out, it shut down cannons servers and they stopped hosting it.

What I saw last night was so good for a $1700 cam I pre ordered two from amazon 15 minutes later.

This race car / motorcycle / eagle video looks awesome.

I'm really glad I ordered two, Amazon sold all thier pre order cams last night. Even with the cam mounted on a race car on a dirt road the greatly reduced jello is going to make it a tool I'm really looking forward too. Those were some pretty tough conditions for a cmos cam, not saying it's not there, it is, just saying it's so acceptable for those extreme conditions I might pre order two more.

Ok...then I'm not going crazy. I was mostly amazed at the noise (or lack of it) especially when the shadow hit the woman's face etc. But this latest video is sort of noisy throughout.....which shows extra compression. What also gave it away for me was the music...a bloody mess. Anyways...the only thing I had againts that footage was that it was blown out in places... But the overall detail/sharpness and compression was nice.

That's the other link. The resolutions are bigger, so you're probably right.
