Looking for £45 free post in UK, or $80 delivered to USA. In immaculate, as new condition. Will be well packed.
K-Tek U.S.A. KSM KS-M microphone suspension, perfect for booming short microphones like my Oktava MK012 (see my other listings) for film & TV work.
Widely used in Film & TV for boom...
I just bought this VDB XL 5.5m boom pole on eBay.
Can anybody tell me if it's the new or older design VDB please. I have read that the older design is much more desirable for some reason.
Did I get a good deal? £290 delivered. Condition is supposedly excellent. It sure is very light at 690...
I feel like what I'm looking for isn't being made right now, but I wonder why.
Field recorders with acceptable to very good pre-amps are all over the place. From the entry level Tascam DR100 & Zoom H4n to the Marantz PMD-661 and up to the Tascam HD P2.
The thing is that they are all stereo...
I have found myself a perfect condition, used Marshall 7" HDMI monitor (The V-LCD70XP-HDMI) for £300!!!! Now that's a bargain. Panasonic battery mount to boot!
Monitorisation, here I come......yippee!
I have made a wooden handle for my shoulder rig, somewhat like the old Aaton handgrip, and am looking to incorporate a record start/ stop button into it.
Does anybody know what the circuit requirements are for an external record trigger for the GH2 please? Thanks
I'm having a bit of an extended nightmare that I can't wake up from!
I have 2x simultaneous AVCHD camera footage tracks and some beautifully recorded audio, from a theatre promo I'm helping out with.
To sync them, I've been using pluraleyes.
When I re-import the FCP.xmp file, the sequence...
So, I have a GH2 and I live in the UK, a country with a 50Hz electrical system, and hence a 25p standard (PAL) for shooting video and film.
We are taught at film school to NEVER shoot at 24p in the UK. I know old CRT monitors could be problematic, with a strobing bar moving up the screen on all...
I saw this Sandisk 95MB/s card and wondered what we thought to the value of it in relation to the GH2 - worth it, for somebody crazy enough to shoot a feature on the GH2?

I find sound syncing in the timeline an easy and straightforward task, but it's the next stage that I need advice with.
After syncing up my good external audio with my camera audio, and then deleting the camera crap-audio, I then re-link the new audio with the video. So far, great!
But then...
I am done upgrading cameras. Last years cameras are good enough. I have 2x GH1s, which when hacked are amazing at ISO 100-400, in my opinion. I have decided that rather than upgrade to a camera like the GH2 that can shoot at higher ISO, I am going to buy lots of lights and shoot at 100 ISO, as...
I have 2x GH1s, both hacked with LPowell's Peak Reliability 75Mbps hack. I use a full set of the faster, better Canon FDs, and I love the combination.
My reasons for wanting to go GH2, in order of importance to me, are:
1. A larger, external monitor will help hugely with critical focussing...
My current set of lenses are a Lumix 14-45mm zoom, and
Canon nFD 24mm f2
Canon nFD 35mm f2
Canon nFD 50mm f1.4
Canon nFD 85mm f1.8
Canon nFD 50mm macro f3.5
It's a nice FD collection, except that I often need a 14mm wide, and use the Lumix, which has a completely different aesthetic.
Does...
OK, so those 24pN guys have got their own issues, what with pulldown and NTSC weird frame-rates.
I thought we PAL fellows needed to discuss attaining a rock solid 25pN hack setting without those issues obfuscating our own.
So far I have tried a few hacks, with varying degrees of success:
1...
So, if I shoot 720p50, how do I get it half speed?
Is it as simple as importing into a 25p timeline and taking speed to 50%? or is there more to it than that?
I have been using LPowell's Reliability hack since I got my camera, as I figure that gets me closer to quality without risking disaster and the total unprofessionality of losing footage.
Recently though (last 2 shoots) I have been using it with the 25p native switched on, and can report NO REAL...
After lusting for a Voigtlander 25mm 0.95 for a bit, I realised that I couldn't justify paying that much for a single prime standard lens, and that I'd rather have a set of FD primes if one of them was a fast 25mm or 24mm.
So I just bought a set of 4x Canon FDs in all the fast speeds, and all...
Can anybody point me at some nice "film light leak" transitions for CS5? THe kind of thing you get on a roll of film between shots, when the camera motor winds down and light gets in creating nice red/blue/yellow flashes on the emulsion.
Many thanks
