Alright, i wont multiquote the people making fun of me. I aint a kid.

Canon will not let the territory be easily taken by anyone.

When the RAW 24P motion comes in the next couple of models, the ones who dissed my post will have to admit this on camera and post i here apolygizing.

Deal?

P.S. I dont work for Canon, and i shoot on the HVX200A, i will stand by my words
about directly talking with their department about the features.

Dont THANK me, that was a figure of speech. I was just proud that i inspired something, for the negative people, you can go shoot some more home videos of uncle bob.

Later.

Now i dont know what exactly you said to them or when, but i think what everyone is trying to get across is that its not so much that no one believes you, its that Canon is fully aware of what we want. People (such as our Mods, and many others on the forum) have talked to people very high up in Canon, and its not so much news to anyone anymore. They know what we want. In my opinion they are just figuring out the smartest way to release this stuff to make the most money honestly, which is fine, thats what business is all about.

I think what is making people poke fun is the stuff like what i quoted above "inspire", they have known about this long before you brought it up I bet, but anyhow, the more people telling them what we want the better, so good job.

Sorry but if you're claiming your just some guy that mentioned this to Canon and now it's coming out in a couple of months .... well like I said, sorry.

For one thing that's just not logistically possible - for a huge company to invent that on the spot, get it into all their factories, and get it out ... in a couple of months.

I'll believe that you talked to them about it and they said "yeah we know it's coming out in a couple of months."

But the other scenario - you alone hipped them to what is already on 100's (thousands?) of forums all over the world, they said gee whiz really, and now it's coming out in a couple of months? Come on.

It's hard to take credit for something that thousands of people have been publicly asking for all over the world, that's already coming out (according to you) so impossibly fast that there's no way it could have come off of your suggestion alone.

.... When the RAW 24P motion comes in the next couple of models, the ones who dissed my post will have to admit this on camera and post i here apolygizing.

No we won't have to admit anything.

I can say "Canon is going to give us professional quality on board audio in the next 2 years because I talked to them. When it comes out you will have to thank me it was all my idea." But when that happened there would be no proof whatsoever that I was responsible for it in anyway.

Again, I will buy that you talked to someone and they said, duh, it's coming out in two months.

But the fact that you both claim you just talked to them, AND it's coming out in a couple of months proves one of two things:
A) you're full of beans
B) it may be coming out in 2 months but it has nothing to do with any suggestion you made to Canon recently. Try at least 6 months, or more likely a year or two for that kind of company to R&D and strategize an entirely new camera and get it onto the market.

Sorry.

You seem to know "them" all. Could you call my neigbor above me and ask them to stop the funk using the tumble dryer at 8:30am sunday mornings...?

Same trouble here in South Amercia Sparky ...only my f*ing neighbours like to used it during the weak at midnight.

I'll believe that you talked to them about it and they said "yeah we know it's coming out in a couple of months."

I think that sums it up and enough said. It is a classic case of confusing a correlation with a cause. If a camera like the upcoming 1Ds mkIV has all the video bells and whistles it will be because of a fair bit of R&D due to Canon having widely consulted with industry professionals and not someone having a private word with Canon. As a stills photographer I only wish that the rather insular DSLR manufacturers would listen a bit more to what experienced photographers consistently ask for. I've not got much experience or knowledge with video yet, but even I can easily see and list what videographers and filmmakers have been consistently asking for with DSLR video implementations, it's not difficult to grasp. So claiming credit for it would be extremely unrealistic. Using Occam's Razor of the most likely explanation being the one requiring the fewest assumptions, which explanation would be the most probable?

I called Canon and said the same thing, and they told me to go f*#k myself. I think we talked to different reps.

But if in two months I'm holding a Canon S35 sized sensor RAW video cine camera with XLR audio inputs. I will quietly whisper with my eyes closed "Thank you, sam. Thank you."

That's funny, but when I called Canon, they told be to go play hide and go f*#k myself.

But that's just because I didn't thank them.

Go figure.

as soon as i read your post, a random movie quote popped into my head.

"Who you callin' a psycho!?" - Movie? ;-)
Ha ...that's a good one. But I was more in the mode of "Tropical Thunder."

Edit: Ha ha..Didn't see your post mcgeedigital...you hit it right on.

What matters is i know they listened to me, regardless if you choose to believe it or not.

What i do find amazing is the time we take to nag at one another instead of teaming up, petitioning and sending emails bombarding the companies with feature requests. After all, you, we, are their target.
