I am Sam, Sam I am.

I told god to give us humour to stop us from killing each other......look how that worked out.

2k raw wasn't that George Lucas's idea? Or was it Yoda? "Aliasing, help you I can yes mmm"

A filmmaker uses tools like a "Trailer" to tease audiences.
A corporation uses things like "Rumors" to cause the same buzz.

http://www.canonrumors.com/2010/02/canon-prototype-full-frame-dslr-shooting-raw-video/

They call them rumors, but really, they are tools to build the audience.

Yea, the only difference is that a "trailer" represents an actual product. A "rumor" is a conjecture from some guy in his mom's basement.

I mean, seriously, unless you can provide concrete evidence from a reliable source (i.e a press announcement or senior Canon employee) anything with the word "rumor" in it is going to be treated with a grain of salt.

But hey, if this turns out to be true I will print out every word on this thread and eat them. You can quote me on that.

This thread is great.

sam, you really are the man. listen, i've really been wanting a ferrari for a while now, but i haven't been able to afford one. do you think you could talk them into building a 600hp racecar for around kia prices. i mean, it's what the public wants...

Ohhhh...wait you guys....stop all the sarcasm! He talked to THEM. I don't think you understand. He told THEM these things and the were like "Wow, oh yeah...good idea!". And then they were like "We were doing things wrong, did you listen to Sam?" and then the president was like "I don't care what it takes...make it happen!" and then they started building this prototype and really soon it was done and really soon this camera is going to be on the shelves and it's really cheap and that is soooo great!

This is awesome. NO one on this site has ever had the ear of major camera manufacturers. No. No one ever. I mean, hey, it's not like we have mods or anything that work with major camera manufacturers providing world famous training material, and certainly none of us has ever been hired to consult for them, and certainly none of us have taken part in focus groups for them, or gone for cocktails with the U.S. heads of major camera manufacturers.

I mean if we had something like that, then big corporations would give us exactly what we want when we want it. I mean they wouldn't slowly dole out one small advance at a time even though their R&D departments are several models ahead when you buy the one on the shelf. I mean if we really had an audience with these types of companies they would realize that it would be much cooler to just give us something Scarlety right now rather than introduce something with limitations, then slowly remove them model by model even though that would be cheaper / less risk for them due to the lower cost, and higher profit by keeping an never ending demand for the next product they put out.

If only. All that was keeping this from changing was someone making a phone call and saying what's already posted on 100's of forums all over the internet.

Now. Finally we have a way into the inner sanctum, and everything will change.

Thank you.

Thank you Sam.

What I don't get is how a lot of people think getting 24fps in RAW is an easy 'tweak'. That's why sport photographers pay BIG bucks for the good still cameras - to shoot a handful of RAW per second. Now 24...
