Whee! Earthquake!

That's the biggest one I've felt since Northridge. It shook glasses and plates. I could see my movie posters moving. It lasted about 30+ seconds here. Usually, they're just jolts but this one rolled for a long time. It shook up my dog a bit. :)

EDIT: Actually, this felt bigger than Northridge because it was so much closer.

Whoaaa, that was insane! I've never felt one before.

My building here at FOX was swaying and shaking like crazy.

I sure as hell felt that! The building I was in (in Woodland Hills) was rocking and shaking like crazy! Maybe 30 seconds or so? I thought it was a matter of moments before it all came tumbling down.

Where are you guys? It wasn't too bad here in Claremont, which is pretty close to the epicenter - a strong jolt for 1 or 2 seconds then maybe 30 seconds of almost imperceptibly gentle rolling...

Rancho Cucamonga (6 to 7 miles east of you)...and it felt pretty damned big here.

Felt it up here in Thousand Oaks. Rolling, tumbly kind of thing.

How are the Fat Monsters? Epicenter pretty much at their shop.

They're about 2 miles from me in Rancho Cucamonga. The epicenter was probably about 15-20 miles from here. Johnson remarked on the quake in the TwilightFest forum (Dead Week thread).

EDIT: It's been downgraded from 5.8 to 5.4...

I'm here in downtown LA and it shook up our building bad enough to make me rush to grab things off shelves!

We have an intern for the summer from Michigan and it's her very last day in LA. Glad we could make it a full California experience for her!

I was in a coffee shop in Burbank - a big screenwriter's hangout - and as soon as it happened we all looked up from our computers. (I think a couple MacBook owners wet themselves.)

It lasted about 20 seconds or so... started with very gentle rolling for about 15 seconds - we all felt it, but nothing in the shop moved - then there was the sharp jolt that lasted about 2 seconds and faded off. It was with the jolt that the lights and pictures started to sway. At about 20 seconds it was gone, but then there was about a 2 second minor jolt again at about 30 seconds from initial motion.

Good times. Earthquakes am fun!
