Suspiria is up there for me, but if I have to pick one, it's The Shining. Psychological scares are always the most enduring and it's a masterpiece.Watching it on 'good old HD DVD' right now. ;-) Great transfer.

Unusual for french movies, but this one was well done. Already mentionned, but High Tension too was well done for a French horror movie.

High Tension was great up until the very end. That *ahem* "twist" ending tried to be clever, but ended up just being plain stupid. The whole film made no sense as a result of it. What a waste; a big disappointment.
