When I was 6 or 7, the leper colony scene of Fritz Lang´s " The Indian Tomb" scared the living sh..t out of me. Kind of early zombie stuff.
The only other film I found really scary was REC
Like Orphanage it was Spanish, but there was an US remake a year or two later called Quarantine - the original was way better though.
Another good one was Fragile with Calista Flockhart, but they messed up the 3th Act.
Frank
whenever I'm in water that is at least 10 feet deep (doesn't matter if it's a swimming pool, the lake or the ocean) and that's to watch out for the shark. "Jaws" is probably one of the scariest movies ever made. When I go back and watch it now, I'm like, "It was a great movie for it's time, but I don't know why I was so scared," but d*mnit, I'm still on guard and ready to fight whenever I'm in deep water. Stupid freakin' sharks!! LOL!
@ Marlon - Everybody was talking about "Jaws" and how nobody wanted to get in the water. Swimming pools were fine, out in the ocean or even a lake people freaked. Talk about power to a movie.

Yeah, one of the best of French cinema. That, and HAUTE TENSION (AKA Switchblade Romance and original french title Haute Tension). Another one I liked from french crew was The Hills Have Eyes, the remake...I really found it scary! While might not be the scariest, it certainly was the creepiest (and very very scary), I saw this French movie last week called Martyrs.
I should definitively watch it. Never did, I'm still waiting to be "in-the-mood" to watch it.As a writer, The Shining.
Absolutely...I'll have to watch it again!Martyrs...whoa. One of the best endings of any horror movie I've seen.
I should re-watch it. First time I was about 13-14 and I found it scary, but not much. Now with a better eye maybe.Absolutely - the Exorcist.
