Top 3

Yeah polish is irrelevant its just a subjective tool relevant for a type of film, story or market etc. I think a lot of folks endevour to emulate polish regardless of whether it in fact detracts even from their film. Anthony thats actually a pretty smart top 3, (i'd bet my bottom dollar a few horror themed fests would see it that way too) just for the originality of their ideas. See horror fans (and horror geeks - yep im one) will elevate the ideas beyond the criteria we imagine as important here.

They also don't rate filmmaker self indulgence too highly too, and its hard as filmmakers not to produce films that come across to audiences (particularly to other filmmakers) as us wanking on cam. None of your top 3 felt like that.

When a filmmaker is competing against a film they are critiquing, I think it's fair to say there is an obvious conflict of interest. I much prefer private reviews from people I'm not in competition with. That has helped me suck less as a writer so I'm guessing it might work with film reviews.

Wanking on cam got me arrested. Not sure why... it was a VERY short film... :cry:
 
lol… it'd be so horrible if they listed the bottom 6 :p "Sorry... your LAST place! Nice job making the worst movie in the entire fest kiddo!"
 
My thing with Keaton is, I feel bad for Alan and Rodney catching flack, because i got my hands on the Symbiosis script.
It specifically says on page 3:

"EXT ROOF NIGHT - MUSIC IS PUMPING OUT OF THE CAR SO LOUD THE ACTORS ARE UNINTELLIGIBLE"
