How do I get clarity/detail in snow?!

I know that in photography you need to adjust the grey balance to get the clarity you want in the snow.
They use a greycard that is 18% grey and adjust their camera against that..

But on the DVX I think you need to set the whitebalance correctly..

And ryanschindler.. I think you messed up the whitebalance in those clips you posted.
A lot of the snow looked really blue.

So yeah.. I gues that's a tip for you..
when shooting snow.. if the snow is really blue.. you've done something wrong with the whitebalance.

good luck!

Alright, we shot all day most footage looks pretty good. I'll upload a sample asap. Most of the shot was at night, so overexposure was not a problem, but getting enough light was. I turned down my shutter speed, opened the iris and such, but without my own lights and only the resort lights on, I got the best I could.
