FEATURE: Stricken the Feature - A Matt Sconce Film

We are still in the holding phase of waiting to hear where the leads take us made at the AFM. The producer's reps are doing their thing, moving and shaking, and I am waiting for the call to ask if I want to take a deal.

OK, just watch out you don't take a deal where it is less than you could've made four walling it yourself :) But seriously, consider that especially with first time projects, it may make more sense to go for something that will give you more exposure vs more money. I mean, if it's going to be a small difference in $, but big difference in exposure, I'd go for exposure - get your name and brand out there, and it may lead to good things for you down the road... that's better than a couple extra bucks in the pocket.

I am optimistic about STRICKEN getting out there. It is only a matter of time. The nice thing is, we can afford to be patient with the film. Even if it sells after MAGIC has hit the theaters, it will still be enjoyed and watched. You have to be positive and move forward. :bath:

Thats good to hear Gary and Matt. I think you're right on all accounts. Be patient but don't be docile. Stricken won't go anywhere so make your moves and always keep it around to possibly include as a package deal with another film (Magic).

I wish you luck in finding distribution. I'll be at that point in a few short months for "Fathoms Deep"

With all the awards you guys have been winning from the festival circuit I think you guys will eventually find solid distribution.

That means a lot. Encouragement is sometimes hard to find in this and other film communities. Everyone forgets about that part as they strive toward their own dreams and goals. I think it exists here more than many other places and I value that.

I also believe we will find the perfect distributor. Everything fell into place for Stricken...sometimes to ridiculously impossible levels and I am sure it will be the same for this. Thanks Matt!

Update!!
Stricken has found distribution!
Gravitas, the VOD digital branch of Warner Brothers is distributing Stricken. That means Video on Demand, Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc will have Stricken! This leaves us available to sell DVD, broadcast, and theatrical rights to other distributors. I will let you know as I find out more!

That's GREAT!! Very inspirational!

We are very pleased with the distribution by a quality company such as Gravitas. It is a good deal and now the way is paved for the full tilt run to produce MAGIC.

MAGIC web page here!

Thanks for all the support from the excellent DVXusers through this entire adventure from writing the script to distribution. What a great story, I hope Matt writes a HOW-TO book because it would be funny, fun and give a lot of important points to our friends that we experienced in the process of making STRICKEN.

Whooooo Hoooooo!!!

Check out James Mierkey's snippit of the score on the MAGIC web site and look at the 3D cameras we will be using for the film in the pics.

I had to do the day job and couldn't be there. I was happy to see you are still following the thread Alan. It will be cool to see your name in the credits for STRICKEN on Netflix etc. Whoot!

Definitely, been following every post. I'm certainly excited to see this when this rolls around or near town, or when I get a chance to head over to one of the theaters playing near you folks. Rock on with the credits.

Kind of funny I thought. Mr. Tibbo does a heavy amount of production sound and very skilled at it indeed. MAGIC?

With his schedule permitting, Emmy award winning sound guy Stephen Tibbo and team will do the production sound and re-recording mixing work for MAGIC.
