After the brutal suicide of her father, Sarah Black tries to go about her normal life and forget her grief. However, she finds herself plagued by horrific nightmares and terrifying visions of disasters to come. After a nerve-wracking incident at the nursing home where she works, Detective Aro comes in to investigate. Aro has been following a string of killings which all share a common thread with this latest incident. As he and Sarah try to uncover the truth, they’re both taken on a psychological thrill-ride through superstition and folklore with a staggering twist at the end.

This is easily one of the best independent films I’ve ever reviewed. Matt Sconce’s ingenious writing and cinematography weave an intricate storyline that keeps the audience riveted, shocked, thrilled, and even touched. There was a copious amount of computer imaging used, which was superb for an independent production. David Fine and Stephanie French make a stellar pair. David Fine has starred in many other films, mostly supporting and starring roles, or as evil villains. Here however, he makes an excellent hero, helping Stephanie’s character in a meaningful and caring way. Stephanie French as of now has not had a long movie career, but seeing this movie, viewers would think she had been acting all her life. Stephanie does a beautiful job as the main heroine, with a realistic and believable performance.

All in all, Stricken is a must see film. It really delivers with thrilling storylines, well-rounded characters, and an intimate look into Irish folklore. This movie truly deserves a theatrical release, and the entire cast and crew deserve a lot of credit for a truly gorgeous film.

Looks like you nailed BOTH story and effects! Don't let people tell you otherwise. Congrats! =)

We were completely jazzed to see this review. When you make a film putting in thousands of hours and literally blood, sweat and tears, it makes it all worthwhile to see a review like this. Thank you for the congratulations... You are very kind. :engel017:

Just talked to a theatrical distributor today again. He is waiting to hear back from one person and, if that person likes it, they should move forward with our Producer's Reps and hopefully get the worldwide rights. We shall see. -Matt

I was cleaning up the storage where we had a lot of props and found the original police report of the murder at Whispering Pines...

If you have seen STRICKEN, this report was actually on Detective Rich's (Master Dave Johnson's) clipboard in the Police Station scene. It brings back good memories! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Stricken Update:

Our producer's reps got back from the AFM (American Film Market) and
have several promising distribution leads they are following up with
on Stricken. They said they should be letting us know some things in
3-4 weeks. Hopefully some of them pan out.

Stricken has been accepted to Fresno's Rogue Festival. ( Non - award festival but pretty exclusive)

It will be playing 4 times in Fresno during March. March 4,5,10,11.

The times and locations will be announced shortly. The seating for each showing is a cozy 30-40 people. When I announce times and locations, if you want to go, make sure you get tickets ASAP. I am trying to make them free.:cheesy:
