Is there ANY WORD from Panasonic or acknowledgement of this?

720/24pN and 1080/24pA, yes.Barry - dare I say it - did you try recording at different data rates?
I'm guessing that's what caused it, but am not 100% sure.Am I right in understanding that this is an issue with the "new" firmware used to upgrade to 16GB P2 cards?
I still haven't gotten around to upgrading my firmware (hasn't come up) - and now I'm thinking I'll hold off if there is the potential for this.
I'm not happy about it either. I'd rather have it corralled and controlled and know exactly when it happens, and exactly what causes it to go away.I am happy for you Barry that you could not get it to happen again on your hpx 500, I honestly hope it never comes back.....but honestly sometimes it doesn't happen on my camera and the majority of the time it does. That to me is a scary prospect. Not knowing if your audio is going to be working properly when doing pro shoots.
Disappointing; I had high hopes for that.I tried turning off the "ACCESS LED" and it didn't change anything for me.
Don't know.I guess my question is, is this something happening in all cameras or only certain ones. Is this something directly related to 16gig firmware update?
No statement has been issued, nobody has mentioned anything that I know of. As far as I know there are no answers yet.Does anyone like Panasonic have answers?
My exact circumstances; using 7506s I could hear it if I tried. It may have been there before, I don't know, but I'm sure it's not there now, so I expect that it's not always present and that's why people aren't hearing it. But it does show up, I've heard it, so it definitely does happen occasionally. But I can't figure out how to make it happen again and that's really annoying!I am wondering because if I didn't have this interview I wouldn't have tested out my audio for any issues. Perhaps it has been this way the whole time I don't know? I have these pro sony mdr 7506 headphones so I could really hear everything going on, maybe too good. Is that why perhaps others don't know of the problem. When I play it back on the tv, the beeping on slot 1 you can kind of hear if you are looking for it. Stuff on slot 2 is far fainter and less likely to hear on a standard television. The time i really hear it is when I put on my headphones and perhaps now I am so accustom to looking for the noise that I can pick it up rather quickly where others might not really hear it or look for it.
That we don't know. The forums certainly aren't awash with thousands of customers complaining about beeping, but we've seen enough different reports (maybe 10 or so) to know that it's not an isolated incident.I am just not sure if this is a specific issue for me or for everyone?
Hey, I'm in the same boat. Nobody's giving answers so I'm trying to figure it out too. If you can come up with any circumstances that affect the beep, share it so we can try to get to the bottom of this.I just wish someone would come out with some definitive answers rather than me trying to pinpoint the problem and figure this out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's probably true. The beeping is very faint, so I bet people have it and haven't even noticed.that said I don't think everyone is being as anal as we are about the audio so perhaps it exists in a lot of cameras but they aren't picking it up or monitoring it to know. I feel if I didn't have those pro headphones I perhaps would not have heard the beeping.
That would be a very valuable piece of information -- it'd let us know if the beep was being introduced at the P2 level or if it's already encoded regardless of the recording method. I doubt it though, as all the reports say that the beep is much more pronounced on slot 1. In fact, all the reports I've heard except yours say that the beeping only happens on slot 1, so -- it sure seems like it has to be related to the cards...Interesting idea that I want to try is if you record to a firestore drive. Would that fix the issue? I don't have a firestore, but its an interesting idea and a temporary fix.
