Is it everything you hoped it would be Matt? Congrats to you.

You know how it is. You never really finish a film...just abandon it. I could most likely tweak stuff in the film until the cows come home, but that is not doable in the real world. I am very excited about the end product. It did what I hoped it would (stretched me as a filmmaker and also kicks butt.) I have never pulled something off like this before. Thanks team!:beer: PUSH turned out just as I had imagined it, and a bit better.

Hypercrane Update! I have the weights on the back and am working on balancing the non-loaded rig. I have the Y and X axes on the head and have mounted the alternative position of the Hypercam angleable low rig on the head. I am now working on the camera mount that will go over the stabilized wheel at the end of the head. It has to be raised up 2.5" so the Hypercam low rig arm will also fit there for turning shots. After that I work backwards toward the control position that will be to the left of the gimbal. I am toying with trussing the main 10' section to add strength to the rig and allow no need for suspension support on the future short rig. I have struts to add to the main tripod to solidify it. The aluminum central shaft on it vibrates slightly as the main weights pendulum. That has to go. I will be using pin-attached jawslide clamps on the struts that will extend from the gimbal cylinder to the adjustable wheels that have yet to be made. This secondary triangulation will solidify the main tripod nicely.

Now that PUSH is uploaded I am going all out on this crane. I have over 190 photos of the construction of it step by step for a DIY thread in the near future. Shane is going to get an In-N-Out Double-Double and a chocolate shake from me... I am at $112 dollars now... Boo. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) Still that's not much for a 20' three axis crane.

Aw man, you should have called me. I can babysit renders and let you sleep. :undecided Well, you can rest here today. :Drogar-KnockedOut(D Also, I will need your HVX for the Hypercam for Tuesday at the Council Chambers in Fresno, with your permission of course! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Gary are you going to film the council meeting? I was going to have Matt bring it so we could do that... good call! See you there.

I have been rendering out Mark's Finished and composited effects shots. It is 5:18 am and I have been working all night. I am rendering the last scene (41 frames out of 2145) finished at the moment. After that, I take the files back to my timeline, make sure they fit, tweak sound to match new effects and then...RENDER final versions.....

yeah Matt did the all nighter. I did the SLEEP 2 hours a night thing for the last week. I left at 3:30am and drove the hour home. Saturday morning after a few hours sleep Matt called me and asked for help with a couple of tweaks. I went down the hill and we fiddled for a bit and polished off a few spots and I think we have a real nice short.

I of course would've preferred to have more space to put in some of the VFX that I wanted. As it stands we had to simplify some parts, but I think it will work. I am now starting to play the "I should've done it this way or if I just would've taken some time to add a little of this" You know the story, hindsight is 20/20.

The funny thing is... 3:30 am on Saturday and I just couldn't proces information and get it to work right... I got a couple hours of sleep and then when I came back the next morning to fix the few loose ends, it was a snap. SLEEP... GOOD!

I knew I could get you to go over $100 if I just kept suggesting things to do!!! Don't forget the shake!!! AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Just kidding. It's cool. But we should all get together for a wrap party or something! In and out would be a good place to eat.

I just saw the short tonight Mark. Your VFX is OUTSTANDING! I was awed by the detail you added in such a short amount of time. Wow! I didn't even see the final version. Matt wrote an exciting story, HIS DIRECTING WAS WONDERFUL, acting was very good, and the editing was sharp and snappy. It was really nice to see the whole thing come together.

But, that VFX was simply amazing. Your detail so so good people are going to have to watch it over and over, and only then, they might see it all. WooooooHoooooooo!

I stopped it and watched it frame by frame just to get it all in...

(I even have to admit, my stabilized camera shots were OK too.) :D

Mark B Da VFX Guru!!! Nice! :engel017:
I found a secret picture of Mark Aro working his VFX magic on his early analog computer... He was writing a program that put down pirate speech... 'R'=0

You bet! And, I will pay up... Or you can just borrow the Hypercrane rig for free anytime and get your own burger!

Or, you can have this for a bet if I make it under $200!

Mmmmmmmmm Good! (I can hear the cholesterol boulders sliding through the arteries already.):Drogar-Evil(DBG):

Tell the truth... that program was later used in writing the Pirates movies wasn't it?

LOL! Yeah! :2vrolijk_08: Ma 'R' k A 'R' o! He has pirate plastered all over his name too!

I did like the analog computer though... :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

You need a hypercrane just to lift that thing to your mouth. Mommy, I'm scared of the big meat-monster...

The funny thing is that you can actually buy that at In 'N Out. They will make any burger you want if you pay for it. I love those guys. Every franchise is still owned by one little family and they give a lot of money to help others less fortunate than them each year. Some of the best burgers in the world.

I'm not sure the Hypercrane could even lift that burger though! Think of the 'grams' of fat... More like pounds of fat! (Your heart:violent5: Cholesterol)

oh don't I know it. I am a so cal child and grew up with the In N Out...man, I wish we had that here...

Yeah, you head east and you lose a few perks. There are good places back there that we don't have so it all equals out.

I remember riding to In 'N Out in the back window of my mom and dad's 1959 Cadillac Sedan de Ville. There were no seat belt laws back then and I could ride back there all I wanted. I even ate my burger up there. We went to one of the first In 'N Outs on Arrow Hwy in Covina, Ca. I think a burger was less than 25cents. Man, I AM old. :undecided

Ah memories...
