GH4 Panasonic GH5 coming in 2017

Both the 12-35mm and 35-100mm will be (and its 100% confirmed by Panasonic) firmware updated to work with Dual-IS2.

The only differences left are cosmetic, freeze proof, and the smoother aperture blade operation when you zoom (as the Mki you can see the aperture 'click' while zooming)

Looks like the new 14-140 lens will be supported with a future FW update but there is no mention of the original 14-140 lens. Bummer.

I don't think this has been implemented yet. I am sure that the firmware updates will eventually support all of these features once the camera is finished and for sale.

My understanding from the description pdf is that Like 709 etc are in the initial release. Firmware in April is FHD 10 bit 4:2:2 and in the summer some time the other recording functions, All Intra, HDR etc.

Initial release yes but the test cameras out there right now have firmware version 0.43 and the release version of the firmware isn't completed yet. A lot of stuff can change yet and I read that even half the menu items were deactivated in that version of the firmware because they were not ready yet.

Were you expecting anything else from beta firmware? We will see if they are correct for the initial release the end of March which is what I am focused on and for which the description applies , not the engineering samples that were given to the early users for Panasonic test shoots etc. Panasonic were on time with the releases of the UX and HC camcorders so I will assume the same will be true for the GH5 until proven wrong.

They're like the opposite of BMD...they usually under promise and over deliver. I can't recall Panny missing a deadline.
