Open request to CD for FS700 + Odyssey 7Q

Please add recording LUTs!!! I have had several jobs in a row where I provided LUTs with the footage but it just didn't get used for whatever reason and I don't find out until the project is already finished. Some editor who doesn't understand what LUT is or who just didnt see the folder with the LUT must have ended up grading without any understanding of how to approach SLOG2. So incredibly frustrating.

Some noise reduction options wouldn't hurt, too...
 
YES! Really would love to get baked in LUT's, wish it would've been included in the recent update. Mostly for jobs where I have to hand off footage, or multi-cam jobs. SLOG2 with luts applied looks great. REC-709 is horrible, even with 4k2HD...
 
Mitch, I was just wondering if there is a technical possibility to record ProRes 4444 12bit HD debayered from Sony 4k raw signal?

If yes, are you planning to include it in any future firmware?
 
Personally, I like to see the Odyssey has an option of denoise/degrain during recording.
Image cropping like the JVC LS300 - cropping image if you use a lens that cause vignetting (user define image size crop)

and 4K output on the SDI or HDMI port !!

The reading of the Atomos FB is of the most amusing this evening... It would seem that the customers of the Shogun are... How to say? Disappointed? In a fury ? ... Thanks CD for this amazing O7Q !

3. A tool te extract the metadate (Clip numbre, good/bad, comments) to a PDF, otherwise it just doesnt make sense...shouldn't be
too hard to accomplish a tool for that..

Besides the $900 savings on 4k the licensing fee CD charges for 4K (not required with Atomos 4k ProRes), baked in LUTs are a nice option with Atomos Shogun and Shogun Flame. Really a time saver!
 
The next thing I like to see on the O7Q - PRORES 4:4:4 for the FS700
why is it that one can record raw 4:4:4, but not for PRORES ? maybe CD can provide
H264 in 4:4:4 format instead ?

YES! Even RED has added DNx support...
 
At this point I don't thing adding DNxHD is a priority for CD. Sadly, it was promised ages ago and never happened.
 
Would Convergent Design consider bringing back the deal where, if you already own the RAW bundle... you can use it on multiple devices? I've thought about getting the 7Q+, but i have the 7Q and really don't want to pay for RAW recording all over again. :(
 
This is one of the biggest down-sides to C-D products. They have a history of promising features that just, somehow, never get implemented. I bought my O7Q's with the understanding that DNxHD was imminent. Having said that, however, perhaps C-D has a bigger issue. Towhit, DNxHD/HR in a .mov format is practically defunct, thanx to the vision and foresight of Apple. I really dislike Apple anything. If and when (doubtful, at this point) C-D implements DNxHx, it would be wise to put it in an mxf wrapper and not quicktime's mov.

Why not just include the RAW decoding into the O7Q+ - I was annoyed with having to fork another $1000 after buying the equipment. It s like buying a car, then found out you have to buy 4 wheels to drive off the lot. Yeah, some marketing folks (probably used to work for some telecom co?) every feature you have to fork over $$ to turn that feature on; I like to do that, add $ for every feature during videographing :(
 
Well I wonder how this apple .mov deal is going to affect the CD DnxHD situation. I hope they were not just about to finish it and make it available and now decide to scrap it.
I really want DnxHD/HR also for the O7Q+.
This apple deal is surprising. People seem to so often use and want ProRes ProRes Prores.... Even stock media is often in ProRes.
 
Is it really so surprising though? Apple have a long track record of just being in the business for the business, not the Industry or the users. I stopped buying their products a long time ago.

Prores has now just become a dangerous security flaw for all Windows users. The Industry needs to respond and support an alternative. And follow through on what was originally promised when we put our pre order dollars down :/
