On Our Terms - a Matthew Bennett film

Enjoyed the BTS. Especially the "Lighting a shoebox." Looks like you guys are working with some really nice equipment. Look forward to the video.
 
Your films is great and I especially love your actors. So much of this story relies on them and I thought they were captivating. I truly felt for them, for their love, and for their situation. What was really cool was all the subtext - the things left unsaid.

My favorite moment is the fire at the end. That is awesome! Did you shoot that outside? However you did it, it is a brilliant and powerful way to end the film.

I think about the only thing I didn't love was the opening titles - they felt more appropriate for a horror film - and your film was more tender and nuanced than that. But that is a small complaint.

This was really great - very well done.
 
I have to agree with everything Chris said. Seriously that's what I was going to say, but in a less eloquent way. I did like it and just loved every bit after she died. Great actors and look, other than the opening credits. I'm never going to look at a vitamin C pill the same again. Great Job!

@ Chris M - the fire shots were done outside, for safety reasons ofcourse, but Noel matched the lighting to the interior location perfectly.

It really is perfect. I watched it a few times and couldn't tell at all. That was way cool!

Just a general point on using fire to anyone that likes the effect and may want to consider it in future - never do it without qualified people on hand and follow the laws that pertain to your / country / state / city etc.

I have to say that it looked like it was indoors to me. I would've never guessed it was done outside.
 
I liked the lighting and the male actor the most. I did however believe the two actors to be a couple. Finally a film that has true interaction with its actors. Good job on that. I LOVED the fire at the end. I couldn't understand why he didn't just take a pill after she did. I saw no reason for him to be burned in flames, so that one escaped me.

So props for lighting, for fire, for acting!
 
I really enjoyed this. I thought it was very well done, but I had a question: Why did the prescription drug kill her so quickly, and why would they have a prescription for that? AND what happened when they took the other pills in the bottle?
 
Really beautifully done. The acting, cinematography, and audio were all spot on. This was definitely an audience favorite. It seems like it was from the most memorable scene from a longer piece.
 
Nice work! Great leads, good performances. Enjoyable to watch the quiet intimacy. Funny, as soon as I saw the fire I said "outside" not b/c you could tell but it seemed the only reasonable way to shoot something like that (and that it was a very close shot). BRavo.
 
The actors conveyed their deep long relationship very well. I also liked the subtle slow feeling of dread that was building throughout the film. Definitely sensed some horror aspirations here. I was almost disappointed that I did not see the zombie or vampire hordes come smashing into the house before the fire engulfed everything :happy:

Ive always enjoyed what you guys put forward and have a great amount of respect for what you guys do. So those comments mean a great deal thank you.
