I generally shoot for a unifying theme that gives you guys some flexibility.
Woo-hoo! Sounds like an endorsement of PopeFest to me!
PopeFest rocks! Mine will star Mel Gibson and it will all be in Latin. Permits to shoot in the Vatican should be coming in any day now. All right!!!!
I would hope so... A total free hand. I mean, look at the film "Clueless" -- that's an adaptation of Jane Austen's "Emma". Or, for a more hybrid adaptation, there's Baz Luhrman's Romeo + Juliet, where he modernized everything except kept the dialogue the same. Countless films we've all seen in the theater have been broad adaptations of Shakespeare plays or other historic works, but if you don't keenly know the story beats of Othello or whatever it is that they adapted, you'd never know you were watching an adaptation...And I would expect people to take a very broad interpretive, rather than period or straight, approach.
Pitch Fest would leave it open Genre and add another dimension to the content: seeing the producer(s) pitch the idea as if they were trying to raise interests or funds for a real feature length.
But am I the only guy who doesn't really know what the big deal about Edgar Poe is?
Don't mean to be an @ss hole here,
But am I the only guy who doesn't really know what the big deal about Edgar Poe is? I studied him in English on the story of Hop Frog... i don't know. I mean I've read up on the guy and everything but out of all the writers for poems and short stories out there etc, why him? I don't understand is there something i'm not getting?
