"MODEL / PHOTOGRAPHER" - an ELOQUENT GRAFFITI prelude – a film by SABI

Congratulations, Zak! You were in my tops as well (not like Yeehaw's top 65, but VERY top few of my list), so I'm not surprised to see you in the finals!

Way to go Zak! And I hope you enjoy your stay in the wonderful Republic of Texas!

(Considering you were in Texas when these were announced...I think that technically means there are 3 Texas films in the Top 10...)

Congratulations man!

Daniel

Congrats on entering the finals, Zak. I knew you'd be a sure thing, but I really love seeing films like yours receiving the credit they deserve.

Dear Zak Forsman,

Congratulations...I bet you're not surprised at all. Haha. Seriously though, one of my favorites.

Good luck sir.

nick, I'll put it this way... I sincerely did not expect the overwelmingly warm reception this film has received. i thought my "art house" niche would split the reaction 50/50, like it did with IFHY. who knew? the fact that I've gotten something like 83+ unique comments and feedback is reward enough. it's why I entered.

Great numbers! Caroline totaled ours up and it seems as though we pulled about 30 positive, 11 mixed, and 3 negative from dvxuser. I'm certainly pleased with those results. We learned about problems specific people were having with the film and ways to improve (other than obvious technical foibles in the sound that I knew were there when I rendered). The feedback was worth entering to me. :)

I think I may have mentioned this before, but someone at Filmmaker Magazine saw "Mo/Pho" here. anyway, they loved it and I'm right in the middle of an interview with them about the short and the feature ELOQUENT GRAFFITI.

also, and this is the big news, HEART OF NOW was offered a small *non-exclusive* theatrical run with a new company for early next year. :)

congrats on the top 10 Zak. Having a little prelude like this is a pretty interesting way to drum up some interest in the feature - seems to work pretty well! Kinda like doing a trailer first but this is just so much more interesting and leaves me with lots of wonder about what's going to happen to these two.

Chronologically does Mo/Pho take place before, during or after EG?

before. and these characters won't likely see each other again.

Ah ok. I think the fact that they wont see each other again leaves me with even more questions. He goes away so beaten and broken - how will he recover. What's her next move? Does she regret pushing him away? I just feel so connected I'm almost worried they won't find happiness. Both just seem so crushed and lost. I'm especially worried for them as I don't see you as a type to give them Disney-like happy endings :)

 aattttaa boy. that's awesome dude. congrats! moreso than making top 10.

Hi Zak!

Incredible film!

I was wondering if I might get permission, once LossFest is done, to use "Model/Photographer" for a "short films" workshop that I offer to youth groups in my diocese. I think it would be a fantastic discussion starter. And if you don't mind me using it, will it be available on DVD in the future? This is one of those rare gems that just jumps out at me.

Thanks,
Alex
