GH2 Lets See your Rigs!

That is an impressive rig. Can you give a breakdown of the components?

Sure thing, I probably ought to do a video tutorial on all the extras you need with getting one of these proAim DSLR cages.

ProAim DSLR cage with matte box and french flags but the quick release plate they give you is off center so I had to drill and tap a new hole in the plate to line the camera up. I went ahead and ordered new quick release plates, one for this and one for my steadicam (not shown) and now it lines up right.

Got the ProAim shoulder mount and handles, also ordered 2 extra 15mm rod clamps so I could mount a quick release plate to the bottom for a tripod. It's like ProAim was so close to having a complete system but just didn't cross the t's and dot the I's.

Anyway the Small HD DP6 monitor,
the Zoom H4n recorder piped into the GH2 so I get direct high quality audio,
The shotgun mic is the Sanken CS1 not going in deep right now and popping links up, but that's about it man.

GH2... x2
Indisystem + Jag 35
I can combine both to create [SUP](Voltron)[/SUP] one shoulder rig w/ monitor and matte box

And yes, I draw smiley faces on all the tennis balls on my c stands.

ErikTande - Thanks, appreciate it!

Gabel - The lens is an Iscorama anamorphic adapter with a Helios 44-2 58mm F2 taking lens, LCW ND filter and rubber lens hood. The monitor hood comes with the Sony V55 monitor and closes up to provide a nice protector for the screen.

Oh, Isco, nice!

Where did you get that rubber lens hood? I have a TrusMT mattebox too, that thing looks nice to use with it!

The rubber lens hood is from eBay...$20 :Drogar-Happy(DBG): For run-and-gun shoots it's much easier for me to adjust the ND filter on the lens instead of the 4x4 ND glass that goes in the matte box. The lens hood helps to bridge the gap between the ND and the matte box.

This was my rig back in April. It was very front heavy. I've since upgraded to Edelkrone's dual-shoulder-pads with counter weights and it's much better balanced.

The rig components: Edelkrone Modula 3, Edelkrone Follow Focus, Ebay handlebars, SmallHD DP6, JuicedLink DT-414, Rode NTG-3, Sony Wireless Lav, Vidpro LED Lights, and the Voigtlander 25mm with a Genustech Vari-ND filter.

I never use the EVF. Not because it's bad per se, although I've heard that some people have a problem with it, I just always use the LCD or my external monitor. And often I'm shooting long stationary interviews in broad daylight with the sun to my back and I'm afraid that direct sunlight falling through the EVF could burn a hole in it. So I keep gaff tape on it just in case.

It's simple... but this is currently what I use as a "minimal" setup. When I get some time, I'll set up my rig with all the accessories I plan to use on it. I've been used to the cheapo shoulder rigs (cowboystudios, and a few DIY ones)... so finally having one with a counterweight is amazing.

A fairly simple rig:
GH3
FHUGEN Honu cage
cheapo rails rig
cheapo Fotga follow focus
Beachtek DXA-4 XLR adapter
Sennheiser wireless receiver
Rode Video Mic Pro w/home made wind muff
Feelworld monitor

I just added a counter weight (cheapo lifting weight) while helps balance the rig a lot.
