Il dolore dell'uomo morto

Yeah, it was awesome -- had interchangeable lenses, took c-mount lenses, and it had a real mirror shutter instead of a prism so the footage was sharper than anything. But, it was noisy noisy noisy. Much louder than the Elmo 1012SX-L (which I also had one of, great camera).

I'm thinking of looking for a 6008S instead, to see if they're quieter...

The DVX may be quieter, but if you have a camera with good optics, you can resolve about 900 horizontal lines, using a fine grain film.

Wonderful. I think it turned out rather well. I just hope that people "get it." This is not a polished piece, very retro and grindhouse.

No worries... some will 'get it', others will not....grain of salt my friend, grain of salt.
Seems we share the company of the same writer. Best of luck in the fest.

I was looking forward to this one and it didn't disappoint. You really captured the feel of the Spaghetti Western, particularly with the music. Who did the music for this?

It was too bad you didn't get the chance to have him squeeze off a shot or two, even if firing at shadows. I guess I had to get my gunshots in the opening credits which were, btw, great!

The little boy also added a great touch to this. I liked that the dubbing didn't always match up with the lip movements, that just made it that much more authentic.

Excellent job.

Great job! Opening credits rocked. The look...the feel...the super 8's of our lives.
This took me back to the good old days. Really an enjoyable film.

NICE!

Very interesting film. You seemed to get all the details right to get the right feel. Makes for a partially funny, partially trippy experience.

The ending was great.

Because of what you were trying to do, it does feel more like an experiment than an actual short film. The story seemed to be secondary to the kitsch of the homage.

Fair enough. Alex is probably ready to kill me, lol. Alex wrote a killer script, just so you know. Due to the difficulty of shooting in that location with a skeleton crew and only 200 feet of film, we had to make a few sacrifices. And of course the edit can take you down a different path altogether.
