Hey all who use Canon lenses with there lex, I've been experimenting with the lenses I had around the house. But now its time for me to get something to put on the end of my adapter. So I started bidding on ebay tonight. I lost on a 85mm, but Im waiting on another. But What would you suggest be the ideal lenses to get. I've got my eye on a 35mm fd, and a 100mm FD. Any others. I got a couple of converters that allow me to hookup my one of my zoom lenses, and I have a 80-100 zoom lense that i need to figure out how to hook on to my adapter. Would a converter work for that?

get a wide, a medium and a telephoto. SEem to be good

either a 24 or a 35, then a 50mm, then 85 or 105.

Have a 25, a 50, a 35 on the way. I'll have to look into a wide, when you say medium do you mean like a 85mm? Im working on finding a decent price and in good condition 85mm. They seem to pretty pricey even on ebay. But I deff had my sites on a telephoto. Those need a lense support? I think Cavision makes one?

Don't get a 35mm. My 24mm FD works for all my wide angle needs. I would recommend the 135mm f2.8. That lens is sharp, great for closeups.

:/

My nikon 35mm 1.4 is my favorite lens to use.

Haha, at f1.4 I bet it would be. I just find that in term of FOV and DOF 35mm isn't all that different from a 24mm, it's easy to just zoom in and adjust. As soon as I can afford it I'm dumping my 24mm f2.8 and going for an 24mm f2.

I have Canon FD 20mm f2.8, 35mm f2, 50mm f1.4, 85mm f1.2L, 100mm f2.8, 135mm f2. From 50mm up they all work like dream.

Im looking into getting a 24mm f2 as well since the 20mm f2.8 does vignette more than other lenses. I dont know if its the aperture or the FOV that does this...

Does anyone use the 24mm f2 or f1.4? how does it compare in regards to vignetting and gg grain visibility to the other lenses?

I lucked out this week on ebay and found a 24mm f2, and two 35mm 1.4, and a 35 f2 both the 35's i got for 40 bucks total. I got a 100mm f 2.8 with a lense hood, and 85mm f1.2. I dont think I spent over a 120 bucks. A good week for ebaying. Pretty good turn out. I need to find a decent wide angle, and a telephoto. But i got to look into a lense support for the telephoto, and what everyones opinion on sizes for wide angle?

I also prefer the 35mm as my "go to" lens for almost anything. It just feels "right" to me as a normal lens. 25mm just feels too wide for normal kind of shots. There's a bit too much curvilinear distortion for my tastes in that particular lens. I would like to try the 28mm ZF. Then I might change my mind on my first choice in normal lenses. For now, the 35mm does it just fine.
