HVX200 Delivery Dates

168? Did I miss that number? If so, where are they?

There's probably a Circuit City in Nebraska with the missing 160 sitting in an aisle with a big sign "Panasonic Mislabeled Special - $59.99"... and noone there wants to buy such a cheapo camera...

Dude I seriously doubt doubt doubt, did I say doubt? High probability of doubt that AVS will get 20 in within the next two weeks. Try next two months.. seriously.. we should all quit talking numbers until we actually see/hear/taste/know of a second shipment that has arrived. i mean, panasonic considered their first shipment of 168 cameras to north america to be good - who knows how many we will get in the seocnd shipment. I do bet that Barbara's list from 1-5 will be fulfilled by the end of Feb

Nah, if there is a sizeable shipment (perhaps panny fixed the problems in manufacturing?) the first 1-5 should get it in 1-2 weeks.

Didnt you say that they were shipping on monday from panny? Doesnt that mean like wed or thurs?

Hey, don't rain on my parade. I'm in the middle of having unrealistic exectations, if you DON'T mind.

Who was it that posted the picture of the cargo ship going down... I'm figuring the words Panasonic were photoshopped in... maybe it did sink and it wasn't photoshopped... :)

If they ship on the 30th, it takes 3-5 days via ground delivery to get to us. So hopefully next Friday/Monday.

3/4 was the bomb back in High school. Walking around with those giant cassettes...

If they are by ground - they must already be in Seattle Distribution warehouse, and shipping from there???
Im betting getting it on Friday...

Oh God...

They ship to USA office first for QC, and USA office is supposed to ship to us the 30th. USA office used to do QC on all DVX's too, but now the 100B's ship straight from Osaka (so the DVX handbook and Magic Bullet have to be mailed to the customer, not in the box anymore).

The rep made it sound like the cameras ship from USA on 30th. I will make sure on Monday. I hope it's not Osaka on Monday...

Rush,

You are right there.. and they were heavy enough to be used as bombs or canonballs for sure. I actually picked up a great thing at a yardsale. I got a laser cassette player and 100 movies. All 70s stuff and a lot of Burt Reynolds stuff. It's like a laser disk in size but it's a cassette. Such a strange device.. but fun to goof people with. I have busted it out and told people it's the new shiznit. It's Low Def baby.

Rush, I would also like to say that you have been and demonstrated the highest professionalism and respect a person could ask for. I see why you have such a good rep on this forum... and I know that I appreciate how you keep people informed, and that you aren't just a dealer, but a video guy as well. I also think that you have seen the power of these forums and so has Jan. and that's why I log on everyday. It has given me so much so far...

Thanks and keep it up!

True! There is a new generation that has never come in contact with 3/4, but instead started in 8, then Hi8, then DV, and maybe mastered to Betacam, but not 3/4. I still have a portable U-matic Sony recorder/player with umbilical connection. It's a beautiful relic.

Thank you sir, I appreciate that. :) I tell the guys that I've been shooting video for 15 years, and only selling for 3. I have been in just about every bad video situation I can imagine, so I can empathize with most problems.

DVXuser has surely been a wonderful way to meet great people in general, all over the world, like no other method. I tell that to Jarred all the time, that he created one of the best networking sites I have ever seen for budding filmmakers looking for people to trust. After 2+ years on the forum, I can honestly say logging-on feels like I am connecting to an extended family of advisors and fellow grunts

Rush,

We probably started shooting around the same time. I think I started shooting 3/4 and whatnot 16 years ago, fresh out of highschool. If I never have to go back to linear editing.. and film cutting, I'll be a happy happy man.

It's very funny with the new people in the biz and their frame of reference. I know that my son doesn't know anything but DVD. He never had to even watch something on VHS... besides, I threw all of my VHS away. I'm thinking that my mini DV might be next.

Have a good one and I'd be telling Jared the same thing about this forum!

Hi Rush, The HVX's are here in the US, they have been going through a QC this weekend, and will ship tomorrow. Eventually, we will move to the same model as the DVX100B, shipping drctly from Japan, but that s several months out.

This should be a nice load of cameras but still will not cover all backorders, so please have patience. I will find out when the next shipment is due.

Best,

Jan
