Hey, I just talked to Barb at AVS, and she said she got word from Panasonic that she's getting "a bunch" of HVXs next week. I'm number four on her her list, and she said I'd get mine. I dunno how many are coming in, but Wahoooo!

**Now, let's see. How many unhatched chickens do I have here . . . one. . . **
 
Unless they didn't get any this week, and EVERY dealer is getting a bunch next week.

Strange, though, no matter how you parse it.

Hey lpcvideo1, I was number 4 on her list - maybe someone got the first one? Does that make me 3? Time to call Barb :thumbsup:
 
EVS is also supposed to get a *bunch* next week too, but I am not holding my breath. Especially if they arrive with no cards... I just hope for the best, that they actually ship the 3rd shipment on the 30th (Monday) to us and everyone else.
 
Rush, how long does a shipment take to get to you? If it ships on the 30th, when would you expect to have it in store?

Got word today that indeed a "bunch" are on the way. I ordered in early Nov, and I am #1 (maybe even ONLY) with a local dealer. My camera is confirmed on its way to the dealer, and I'll have it in a week. Dont know if it will have P2 Crads included when it ships, but I am thrilled that it is on its way.

I am NOT getting my hopes up..I'm still planning for my little camera to fall into my little grubby hands my mid-march, it would be nice though, dreamers will be dreamers...

If Barb says she's getting a BUNCH in, and EVS and Birns and Sawyer placed the biggest orders on the west coast, then surely that would mean that Panny has shipped HVX units in the thousands, which I highly doubt...

wow! when i stated this thread, i didn't expect the heat to rise so quick. :)

But, I am predicting that Pana does not do mass shipments of this cam until late spring, early summer. But it if it a quality product, by all means, take your time.

At least the delay will allow the NLE's to issue and perfect a HDV workflow/upgrade.

BTW, anybody who booked shoots based upon the delivery of thier HVX200 is a fool. Never book a shoot unless you got the camera or can get the camera. :(
 
Too sad that I wont get the camera for my birthday :( And I wont even have it before I go to chicago :(

But I trust David at Leo Store will deliver the cam in february ;) Took a while to find someone to provide a MONTH of delivery ;)
 
So there is talk of possibly getting 20 cameras in at AVS within a week or two? Damn, I need till March to get all of my cash together.

How much is the going rate on donating blood/plasma/semen/vhs equipment/parachute pants?
 
Dude I seriously doubt doubt doubt, did I say doubt? High probability of doubt that AVS will get 20 in within the next two weeks. Try next two months.. seriously.. we should all quit talking numbers until we actually see/hear/taste/know of a second shipment that has arrived. i mean, panasonic considered their first shipment of 168 cameras to north america to be good - who knows how many we will get in the seocnd shipment. I do bet that Barbara's list from 1-5 will be fulfilled by the end of Feb
