@grimepooch ...the reason for the higher slant in the GH-2's image vs the GH-1 is because of the zoom lens (kit lens) used on the GH-2 vs a wide angle (20mm) on the GH-1 (IMO...but I could be wrong). Also, I find my 20mm lens is less contrastthan my 14-140mm kit lens. Remember this is just a casual test...not scientific.
I agree in why they are different, although I believe the original poster set the aperture to the same and set the focal length to the same (although aperture has nothing to do with rolling shutter). Although you can see that the focal length isn't the same. If they both were identical, then we could measure the skew difference pretty easily. I'll be honest in saying even with the FoV difference, I was not expecting that large a difference between them, here is what I calculated:
GH1: 3.43 degrees
GH2: 6.48 degrees
So the GH2 line is 88% more slanted than the GH1
GH1: 25 pixels wider FoV in the reduced sizes I made (46%) , or 2.9% wider than the GH1.
What's this all mean? It means we really still don't know. But I really don't feel that the GH2 has any massive improvement on rolling shutter from this example EVEN with the differences in the shot. It's probably the same or a little worse looking at this. Given the margin of error on measuring the slant of the line, it's still A LOT more slanted.
