one step at a time... the firmware may never even get decrypted..
I should clarify my question: Assuming the firmware does get decrypted, what is the chance that 1080p60 or 1080p30 can be made possible?
Assuming the firmware does get decrypted, these questions may at one point be answered. GH2 already does 1080p30 (w/out sound) with variable frame rate at 80% I think..?
Your question is answered here http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?235478-GH2-80-slow-motion-mode-30p-for-EuropeansAlmost exactly what I was going to ask about - in 1080/24p "Cinema mode", can the "variable video mode" at 80% be used to shoot at 30 frames / sec? Can someone with the camera confirm this?
Does this disable sound recording as Perder suggests?
If yes to the former and no to the latter, I'm putting one of these on order... otherwise I'll have to think about it ... thanks.

This is exactly what I suggested a few months back. I hope this is achievable.OK, here's a crazy suggestion for the hack suggestion box - 1080/48p for motion on high-speed DCI projectors. Could this possibly be more achievable than 1080/60p?
Follow focus also in video mode via touchscreen:
Well, did not work in most models and nobody could make it work . But in the end I did find 2 models where it worked and it looked good to me. The GH2s on the Photokina were of course all pre series models and not all of them had all features working already. The product managers said, that this will definitively be working in the final GH2.
I called panasonic and they confirmed that the slow focus in video recording is NORMAL and touchscreen fallow focus is NOT available in video recording mode.
Not quite.Things I don't like about the GH2:
- Lowest IOS is 160 (GH1 has two below that - 100 and 125)
One gets easy trapped in slightly wrong terminology.
Follow focus does work in video mode.
What does not work is the AF-Tracking in the video mode.
Not quite.
GH1 ISDO was much higher that it should be.
ISO 100 GH1 = 137
ISO 200 GH1 = 269
ISO 160 GH2 = 167
ISO 200 GH2 = 209

> GH1 beats Gh2 overall score.
Yawn. Y'know, I really don't care - we can't shoot "raw" video, and the GH2 has much more powerful processing than the GH1.
