If the GH2 was exposed to direct sunlight, it could have temporarily overheated. That happened to me one day after I left mine out in the sun on a tripod for an hour. The hot GH2 refused to record or update its firmware for a while. After cooling off, it's worked fine ever since.

I must be dumb.... but what do I do with this ini file to load flow motion into the camera?
Unzip the Flow Motion v2 INI file into the same folder as PTool 3.65d and Panasonic GH2 firmware v1.1. Launch PTool and load the Panasonic firmware file. The "F" button at the bottom of the PTool window should now be highlighted. Click the "F" button to apply the FM2 patch, and save a new hacked firmware file to disk with an incremented filename number. Copy that file to the root folder of an SD card and use it to update the firmware on your camera.

Flow Motion v2 is designed to work at 100Mbps peak bitrate in 24H, HBR, FSH, and SH video modes. In 24H mode, however, I discovered a technique that enables the encoder to automatically overdrive its bitrate up to 140Mbps to handle unusually detailed images. This "turbo mode" makes use of an internal clock-multiplying feature that Panasonic designed into the encoder's file writing mechanisms. In addition to improving high-detail image quality, it tricks the 4GB file-spanning process into treating the 140Mbps video stream as if it were still running at only 100Mbps. This is what enables Flow Motion v2 to support 140Mbps file-spanning on 95MB/sec SDXC cards.
...It all depends on your memory cards. I've been shooting with FlowMotion since last Summer, and it's worked flawlessly for me, but I am using high performance memory cards. ( 35+ MB/sec write speed SDXC 64GB cards )
Shooting normal 24H speed ( 100 Mbps max ) I can easily fit 2 hours of footage on a 64GB card, so a 16GB card should fit at least 30 minutes or more.
I designed and tested Flow Motion v2 to record reliably in all video modes using standard 30MB/sec Class 10 SD cards. The only advantage I've found to using 95MB/sec SDXC cards is their ability to support 4GB file-spanning in FM2's 100Mbps modes. With slower SD cards, Flow Motion v2 supports file-spanning in its 60Mbps 24L, FH, and H video modes.

Ipowell, thanks for the great hack! As you probably know Driftwood is experimenting with custom matrices in order to improve the colors and what not. Are you planning on customizing the GH2 matrices or are you happy the way it looks with your hack?

I found some noise patterns in my footage from my last shoot that I find very troubling. I've talked to others who have also experienced the same kind of noise where it shouldn't be. Seems at first glance to be Flow Motion related. I can upload a clip from the MTS file if that would help identify the problem. It appears in shadowy even textured areas of the image.
Has anyone noticed this? I talked with Roman and he had the same issues with Flow Motion and hasn't seen the same problem using Sanity 5. If it's not related to the hack I'd like to know.
