question about this hack/GH2 in general, why doesn't it record audio in variable movie mode at 80% (30fps)?

Is this the hack or simply the GH2 that is that way? Pretty frustrating

That's not the hack, it was designed that way.

You can record the audio on an external device during filming, sync/work with your editing software to match the audio.
 
yeah i usually record externally and sync, but it can be a pain in the ass to sync when u dont have native audio. blargh

No, audio wont be recorded in camera using the 80% mode. However, why dont you just use HBR mode? Its is 30fps.
I know, its not exactly the 140Mbps you may want. But HDR is about 90-100Mps which is more then enough for most needs.
