Everything Is Better

Today we will be recording a custom soundtrack at 3:30. I will be amazed if we get this all done in time.
Still waiting for confirmation on our Voice Artist, big piece there thats still missing.
(Added a screen grab from Foley/SFX)
All thats left is one scene of foley, Sound Track, and VO.

Thank you. I can tell you now, for a 1hr 30min recordin session on a last minute short film, Tommy did an incredible job! This short is practically carried on the shoulders of his score.
 
Well apparently I don't know my GH2 that well JUST yet. I shot the entire thing in 29.97 timebase. Whoops. Not horrible but certainly not desired.
Final rendering and then upload.
 
A very quirky off beat piece. Im calling it right here - most fun use of prop. Enjoyed it for all its strangeness.

This was very interesting. It reminded me at one point of the movie "Perfume" (and I love that movie).

The idea of Bacon containing some compelling element that distilled could translate into charisma is very fun. The ending was odd, dark, and strangely perfect.

I also really like what you did with the color here. That shot of the man alone on the hillside is awesome.

Definitely best use of a prop. Well done.
 
I love bacon and there for must love this movie. I did notice that you must've shot that knife choosing shot a few times, because there was finger gunk on it. The prop made the story. Nicely funny with a well appreciated dark side.

Thank you Chris, I was worried it seemed too "perfume"esque but I felt the characters and plot was different enough to work. Even though they share similar ideas.
I really liked the color outdoors overall (even though some of the exposure was a bit off) I tried to make it as if he was covered in a thick bacon scent. So the hazy brown/red was to make it as if the world around him was caked in bacon scent.

Yeah, we ran through ideas for the knife shot a few times to see what we wanted. But, we also re-arranged the knives (as it's a working kitchen) to suit our tastes.

It wasn't too "Perfum"esque - your tone was good and I dig that "thick bacon scent". :)

Thank you! I had fun with it. I generally try to be subtle, but I wanted to go heavy on this one just for fun to see how the GH2's footage would stand up. I had some issues with weird light mixture in the bacon frying scene, but I felt it looked good overall.
His aura was a bit of a "power window" technique because the shot was so wide. I wanted the eye to be drawn to him instantly then wander around the landscape.
 
Please ask questions and give critiques too. I'd really like to improve my craft so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This was so bizarre but in a good way. I really liked your shots, nice cinematography. Particularly those huge landscapes near the end, those shots were gorgeous. Nice color grading on those shots too, it looks like you played with curves a little. The bacon concept as a perfume is original and funny, and i like how it lead up to the ending. I didn't love the VO, i wish the voice was a little more natural, but it was cleverly written and i like how the main actor finishes the VO with the word "charisma". It was well done. Kudos for doing all the shooting and editing yourself Josh, I enjoyed the dark comedic flavor of your short.
