[Richard J. Johnson]

I think we will be flooded with information by the weekend.

Guess we'll just wait to see the real world tests and gather some info. sigh.

Three video samples all shot with kit lens at high iso.

Perhaps the 550d/t2i produces slightly less noise in lowlight than the 7d: http://vimeo.com/9712377

Edit: Sorry, I just saw that it has already been posted in the other thread...

Some more info. I just played with a rebel t1i (not t2i) and it had an EOS lens on it. In manual mode I had 1/3rd stop aperture control of an EOS lens.

also confirmed for t2i
1/3rd aperture control on EOS lenses

Question time, could I use a class 4 SDHC card to record to or should I go with a higher class?

[Lez]

Wow seems like it's a hell of a camera at the price point...

Just when I decided I get a 7D...

Cheers

What I am hoping for is that this 550D can record clips longer than the 7D 12 minute limit, or that at least it will beeps when you're at 11m30

People already have the camera. I'm pretty the limit hasn't changed.

I was also hoping for a smaller sensor, it would give a larger DOF.

Are the 500D and the 550D the same thing?

No, different and subsequent versions (T1i and T2i in the US market; Kiss X3 and X4 in Japan). The selectable frame rates such as 24p/25p are only available from now on with the 550D/T2i/Kiss X4. A new higher resolution sensor is also introduced.
