Does anyone have a high quality version -- HD, godwilling -- of Macgregor's Similo? The Vimeo version isn't the prettiest (https://vimeo.com/14058124). I feel like there was once a higher quality version there, so maybe someone downloaded it.
Crossing my fingers!
I'm planning to shoot a narrative feature, and I'm wondering if there is any precedent for using the PDW-F800 or PDW-530 (in independent production or otherwise -- something I could see online or rent/purchase)? Is there any reason in particular one/both of these would be unsuitable for the task...
I'm looking to sell a Flycam DSLR Nano that I bought about two months go. I took it out of the box, set it up, and used it a few times in my house for testing -- beyond that, it's brand new. Otherwise it's been packed up in its original box for more than a month! I purchased it, with shipping...
I'm currently building a new PC (Intel i7 2600 quad-core, 8GB ram, Blu-ray writer, etc) and I want to make sure I get a video card that will be able to handle the editing I plan to do -- for now, mostly Canon DSLR stuff (Cineform transcoded, of course).
Does anyone have experience with the AMD...
There's a fellow from dvxuser who made an excellent short film 'proposal' for a feature -- but the proposal film stood on its own as well. It was shot, I believe, on a Panasonic DVX100 with a 35mm adapter. It was a sci-fi romance, involving a robotic woman -- I think. I know this same person...
I put the H264 files straight from the camera into Vegas and the video preview is completely black. I have Cineform to convert, but I have so many GBs of footage, I'd rather just use the originals. Any suggestions?
I'm trying to find out what focal length lens I'll need to rigidly separate background and foreground elements in an image -- i.e. to render the in-focus foreground subject as one plane, and flatten (and render completely out of focus) the background, so it seems almost as if the image is...
I'm looking for a fast (preferably f2 or better) short-telephoto lens to use with my T2i. I need a lens that will be able to render a very flat, out of focus background, so I think 85mm would be the shortest I'd be willing to buy -- though for the effect I want I might need something even...
I'm looking to discover information about HD cameras that have been forgotten and/or underused/underdiscussed, cameras no longer considered in-vogue by the modern digital filmmaker who abandons old systems as soon as new-tech comes along; cameras that, perhaps, were once unattainable...
I'm in the market for some lighting gels, and I'm hoping for some online retailer suggestions. I hear that Rosco and Lee gels are the best, but I haven't found any convenient places to buy online that sell reasonably sized gel sheets (i.e. 10"x10")
The only retailer I've found so far that I...
Curious to see GH1 footage at 1600ISO after the hack (with a reasonably fast lens of course, f/2.8 or faster). Full 1080p screen-grabs preferred (or Vimeo un-recompressed footage). Any low-light situation you can contrive is fine: indoors, outdoors, both, whatever.
Comparisons to the 7D or T2i...
Looking for prime lenses at or below 20mm (preferably), max aperture of no less than f/2.0. Any lens type as long as it can be adapted to the GH1 without loss in optical quality. I know of the 20mm 1.7 pancake lens -- I'm looking more for older lenses in other mounts: Canon FD, Nikon, etc
I...
It's out of stock everywhere online: Best Buy, Sears, Norman Camera, Crutchfield, Adorama, B&H, etc.
Anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking for "body only" at the normal retail price of $799.
Selling my Cleat 4.5" suction-cup camera mount. Fantastic mount, used it for several car-mounted shots with my mini-DV cam -- including several on the interstate, i.e. my camera on the Cleat mounted to a car going 60+ mph and never were there any problems at all. Also used for a few in-camera...
I'm looking for good wide-angle primes. I'll be purchasing a wide angle zoom (which one, I've not yet decided), but for those shots where I need an aperture of greater than 2.8, a prime lens is a must.
The only lens I've seen so far that seems to fit the bill is the Sigma 20mm f/1.8, but...
