I need a cheap backup so ive narrowed down to either the hv40 or maybe something like the m300. Ive used the hv40 and love it. The 24 footage has been great. Im not too worried about tape vs tapeless so am i missing something by not getting the m300?

been using the canon tapes in the a1 but for the price they dont seem to be any better than the cheaper tapes. Are the canons any better? I dont see it but wanted other opinons. Feel like just throwing away money on the canons. considering getting something like these. Panasonic AY-HDVM63AMQ
