how bad(direct in camera)

I have to shoot an advertising spot today and the sound guy cant be there(nor his equipment). The good thing is that i can redo everything for the final product but i have to shoot and send samples in.

I have a boom and a lav but nothing to record to. How much worse will it sound recording directly into camera with nothing else(no mixer etc)?

I can handle the dp stuff myself but now im having to improvise on the sound. Ive told everyone the sound issues and they are fine with it but guess i am just wondering how different it will be.

I am being more judged on the actual material rather than the audio/video aspects but i still want it to be presentable.

It obviously depends on the camera.
A varicam 3700 is going to sound just about perfect, a hvx200 is going to sound thin and more noisy etc but acceptable, a dlsr is going to
pretty much be garbage.
