narrowed down to two cameras

I need a cheap backup so ive narrowed down to either the hv40 or maybe something like the m300. Ive used the hv40 and love it. The 24 footage has been great.

Im not too worried about tape vs tapeless so am i missing something by not getting the m300?

The HFM300 has no viewfinder, no native 24p recording and worse image quality than the HV40. The newly announced HFM41 has a viewfinder and better image quality but still no native 24p recording.
