I am always interesting in feedback from others about our film. As the creators, we are so close to is that it is really hard to appreciate the finished product. So, we have to live vicariously through others!

Ugh, nice typo from the writer! That should be "I am always interested..." not "interesting..."
WOW so much story in this without being overdone. Topped of nicely (pardon the pun).
It was a 2k actually. It was the only light we had that would have enough throw for the whole room.

A nice film. I want that recipe now. There just aren't many cannibal cook books out there.

RIGHT?! At first I was thinking, "Geez, this guy looks, acts, and sounds like Alec Baldwin" Now I know why!
I have to say that this was wonderfully shot. It was paced extremely well, and cc'ed even better. Great job to everyone involved with this! Very ... very good!

I loved your film!
Your story is so original - I would love to know where you got the idea from. I had no clue where it was going and the journey you took us on was wonderful, unique, and strange (and I mean that in the best way possible). In the end, this was a story about friendship and I wish there were more stories like that. You didn't even have any villains (and that is extremely rare).
Your entire cast was wonderful. The opening scene with Daniel Baldwin had a somber tone, but with a subtext that hinted at the humor and affection to come. The BBQ scene was lovely. I felt like your actors knew and really loved each other.
Everything about the shoot screamed "professional": the cinematography, the sound, the edit, the direction - it was all excellent.
If I had one complaint, it would be that you hit the six minute limit and the song had to end so abruptly.
Otherwise, this was perfect and truly inspirational.

It was definitely tough finding something to complain about with this one. I'm still thinking about it this morning. My "one complaint" would be the creepy dog in the window at 5:06. I don't know why it creeped me out so badly. :thumbsup:

Daniel's office is in the same studio as ours - so we've gotten to know him a bit. He read the script and was gracious enough to play with us. We also run a pretty tight ship so he knew it wouldn't be a drag. He was perfect in the part, nailed the subtle humor and was a joy to work with.

Thank you! We were worried not everyone would get all the music references and the coma play list joke. The band, Brownish Black is local and their contact info is on the credits. On the non 6 minute limited edit, our only change is proper credit scroll and much more song.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS...WATCH THE FILM FIRST
The story idea came the same way many of our ideas do. An offhanded comment or joke Devon or I throw out there. In this case, Devon has a good friend who is a mortician, in fact his name is Andrew and our character in Will is named after him (Devon mentioned this briefly in the BTS video). One day we were visiting him at the mortuary and he was showing us around the facility. Devon joked about getting basted up BBQ-style before being cremated. He and I thought that was funny, and the germ of an idea was born.
But that was just a start of an idea. I mulled the entire story over, jotting ideas down, trying to put something together that was funny but poignant, and made a comment about death/dying. I cherry picked some ideas from other places and pieced them together: The "coma play list" is an idea a friend of ours mentioned offhandedly one day and I'd always found it interesting; A Minnesota friend once wondered why I was into so many Minnesota bands when I wasn't from there; The "last 12 minutes of the Replacements 'Tim'" is my own idea.
I'm a big Replacements fan and have always thought that last 12 minutes was rock perfection. (Really, the whole second side of that album, starting with Bastards of Young, is brilliant, with Lay It Down Clown being the one weak spot). A long-running thought of mine is that if I knew I only had 12 minutes to live that I'd put on those three songs.

The criticisms: My only real complaint was in the ending shot... the footsteps sounded like a woman in heals. That should be an indication to you how much I liked it! LOL
The compliments: Okay, let me start by saying, in our viewing party our very first observation was how much the lawyer looked like Alec Baldwin... it was almost distracting! Of course, his last name is Baldwin, so maybe that had something to do with it. LOL!
That said, your film was a party favorite. For the most part, all of us really liked it (only one person didn't). Our own lead actor said it was his favorite and it ranks up there close as one of mine as well.
The whole look of the film was great. I love how you changed mood with lighting and color. Wonderful.
