Film Production Log
December 2011: Screenwriter Kevin Curry began kicking the idea around his head, making notes, rolling it over in his brain, but not writing anything. Idea was based on a conversation between him and Devon Lyon, the film's director.
January 29: Over dinner and beers before a film festival that our 2009 DVX short The Tell was playing at, Kevin pitches the idea to Devon. He likes it, and we decide to try to do it for the next DVXFest. Oh, and The Tell won Best of Festival that night, for the OpenLens Film Fest.
February 7-10: Kevin writes, then rewrites, and rewrites again.
February 11: Devon reads the script, likes it. We enlist Chris Weilert to help co-produce and to play the character of Will. We set the shoot date for Sunday, February 20, quickly recruit Jake Rossman and Mercedes Rose for their roles, and send out invites for the others. We secure 90 percent of the crew that day as well.
February 14: Locations firmed up.
February 15: Cast is finalized.
February 16: Production meeting to firm up props, schedule etc. Devon starts the DVXFest page for the film, posts the poster and announces it to the DVX world.
February 20: Shoot day. We crammed a lot into a day, but we pulled it off without killing the actors or crew.
February 22. Reviewed footage. Roughed in the first minute. Should come together nicely.
March 4: Color grade done.
March 7: BTS video is done and will be uploaded later this evening.
February 8: Sound design/mix/score done.

Devon's initial edit is coming along nicely. Excited to see the rough cut, then lock it down and send it to the sound designer.
We also received official sign off from a local Portland indie band whose music is being featured in th film.
