What shoulder mount / hand held solutions are people using?

just discovered this shoulder-mountable rig today:

not really in my budget, but you can buy parts separately.
this looks to be the simplest and most versatile rig i've seen! i love that the handles can rotate and i like how even though it's a full shoulder rig, it doesn't look big and bulky.

Psynema's suggestion is a great one too.
Alternatively, I'm going to try a combo of a flash bracket handle and shoulder stock:

How are these solutions compared to using a Gorillapod as shoulder rig ? I heard some use that since the legs are flexible.
