What shoulder mount / hand held solutions are people using?

I've got the Hauge MMC but I think it's a little too light for the GH1. Need to find MOAR weights.

Im probably going to buy this thingy: http://www.foton.kalisz.pl/?strona=sklep_produkt&grupa1=1&grupa2=1&grupa3=&pid=91 , have tested it 2 weeks ago and it's fine for the price (less than 100$). It is able to do nice vertical moves. Horizontal panning and walking is a little struggle, because it depends on how you walk... I was doing this for the first time and it wasn't perfect, but still... it's better than other designs similar to mitcorp's (like this: http://www.foton.kalisz.pl/?strona=sklep_produkt&grupa1=1&grupa2=1&grupa3=&pid=26), because it helps you to stabilize a camera in 2 dimensions. On the pictures mitcorp's mount looks like it is generating a lot of problems in horizontal movement.

If I was able to put a bigger one in my luggage I would choose this: http://www.foton.kalisz.pl/?strona=sklep_produkt&grupa1=1&grupa2=1&grupa3=&pid=100 , but this one is not so easy to fold and I need to take it on a plane.

Awesome links Mike and Martti!!

The Cavision looks like it is plenty for what I need. But I'm reallllllly liking the indiRAILSpro DSLRsm! Looks awesome!

I wonder if a follow-focus can be attached to the the indiRAILSpro DSLRsm?

Why these rigs are so expensive btw? That indirails look very nice, but in most cases it's 30-40% of the GH-1 price, even if they aren't too complicated devices :crybaby:

Tim's indifocus stuff is exceptionally cheap for what it is (especially since it's manufactured in the US) - you could always get the indian rail system as a base system (the one that used to be on ebay) - and then add other 15mm bits to it...

I have also always felt that some of the zacuto stuff was insanely overpriced...

They're all over-priced to some degree. Part of the issue is supply and demand. If they aren't going to sell a lot of them, they need to charge more to reach a certain profit to stay in business. It's all economics. However, if they realized that if they lower they're prices they'd sell a lot more.

The Indi-branded stuff is somewhat reasonable, but not nearly as nice as say Zacuto or Cinevate. I'm not saying it's bad, but you get what you pay for. I'm seriously looking at the Cinevate DSLR rig. I like the way the handle could be configured, the shoulder pad is fully adjustable and looks softer and more comfortable, and you can add rails to the back of the shoulder pad. I still think it's way overpriced, but at least there's more flexibility with it.

The Cavision is very reasonable, but it looks really cheap. It's tough because we all want the quality of the expensive stuff (or close to it), but they're costing more than the camera in some cases.

Thanks Mr.spooky!

Nice rig! Too expensive though. Think I'm gonna get the "indiRAILSpro DSLRsm". Looks right for what I need. I hope I can add a follow-focus to it though?
