West Fest - Viewing / Rating - Technical Issues Thread

Ok, zips are back up. I downloaded a couple and was able to extract all the files out of them.

Hopefully this will work for you and serve as a stop gap for those of you having trouble with the streaming.

Errors like this and like the entry with the green spots is usually the result of a partial file. Either the file was only partially transferred to the mirror or your download failed part way through the transfer.

I just downloaded your file on the main server (which is the only place files are being served from at the current moment) and the audio is there. So any further attempts to view your entry should include the audio.
 
Another clarification... This is not a fully realized streaming system. It's a growing system. So please don't expect a vimeo or YouTube style experience

Unfortunately some connections and/or browsers may not play the film in browser, in that case you may have to download the film and watch locally

We are working toward a more traditional streaming system but I wanted to give you a step in that direction as we move toward that. There are a lot of pieces to work out for full streaming

I apologize if the experience is problematic for you. I'll continue to try and improve the experience even this go around, but I ask you to have some patience with me in the meantime

I can't dowload or view 'Gathering Souls' or 'Cowboys and Indians'. The stream just spins doing nothing and the downloads never seem to complete they just stop at various file sizes.
 
I'm using the embedded playing and just clicking random after each film.... seems to be working fine for me.

First film was loading a long time. I paused and then pressed play again and was able to see the progress bar. the film played once it finished downloading.... every subsequent film (after clicking random) plays right away and shows a progress bar as well as soon as I press play one time.

That's my experience on chrome if it helps anyone

Can't seems to play any film. Tried clicking on Cowboys and Indians and it downloads and won't play. Also download links download with empty quicktimes
 
I am working on it. Thankfully it can be downloaded so people are able to watch. But it would be nice if it would stream correctly.
 
Dying Alone, Together has no sound for me - doesn't matter if I play it on the embedded, download it directly, or from the zip.
 
Dying Alone...Together is without sound until they speak. I posted in the dying alone...together thread about us moving during the making of this film, so the music didn't get to the point that we were satisfied. Let it play and you may find out that it does, in fact, have sound.
